Yep, mine are all set up ready to be found in the morning. Kids are going to be excited to see them again!

    I'll do the tree tomorrow

I am an elf of the shelf virgin, just got ours but haven't started yet. Do I give the book separately then put the elf out tomorrow? Once I have put elf out when do I hide him again?

I put the book and elf out together last night. So the first appearance was this morning.

Then you move him each night when kids are asleep so they find him when they wake up!

Thank you, Dec 1 kind of crept up on me and I didn't have a game plan lol. I might put both under tree tonight so he can find in the morning. I'll have more time to explain to him tomorrow anyway, this morning was rush rush out the door.

I might need to set myself a reminder to move Elf each night I know I will forget otherwise 😂

You can do whatever you want with them. I tend to go all out because I'm silly like that LOL. Last year we had all sorts of things - fishing in the fish tank, reading books, movie night, zip lines, acrobatics on swings etc, a fire in a Lego house, being a mechanic under a toy truck, riding the dragons, super elf with capes flying off the ceiling fan, etc etc. but you can just move them each night and not worry about "doing" something with them.

There are hundreds on ideas on Pinterest and a sites if you get stuck. Last year was our first year and I did up a planner and made little props. This year I haven't really thought about it! I think I'll be recycling some of last years ideas LOL.
