I've also been told to take up a spot early in the year. Ideally I'd like September just after all the winter germ. So I either put DD in jan 2017 when she's 1 or jan 2018 when she's 2. Mum said when she's 2. Mum is happy to look after her for 15 months. I feel bad. We haven't really decided. Also wonder if it's better for her to go when she's 1 so she can learn and socialise early. I would only put her for 3 days anyway. Mum will look after her for 2 days when I go back full time.

I know bbhope is going back full time at some stage. @Gelati what about you? I think I will ease into it. Ideally I'd like to work part time but I need the money so we can afford school fees. Otherwise I don't think we can send her to the school we want.

I better get on Centrelink stuff for cc as well then.

It's important to have me time. Very. I have 1.5 hours to myself when I do Pilate. DH stays home that morning to mind the Bub. He then goes to work when I come home. Other than that I don't have set me time. DH tells me to go somewhere on the weekend but I haven't really done it.

DD catnap the whole day! But I was at mums so it was ok. I could eat lunch when mum looks after her. We also went shopping and I bought too much for her. Eeks! I have bought heaps of clothes for her. I'm in trouble with the husband I think lol. I have spent too much.
@Gelati she slept from 7.30 to 3.30 last night then after a quick feed she slept again until 7.30 am. Such a champion! She's able to sleep 6-7 hours in the first part of night sleep.

Must be just comfort. Feeding is comforting. When they suck their heart rate reduce and calm them down.

@Minib - I'm going to go back part time then slowly back to full time. Are you sending dd private from primary school? What school are you looking at? We have already enrolled in xavier from grade 5. But they are so expensive so am also considering others.

I was told that it's easier for them to adjust to Childcare if they start before 6 months old but I'm scared of the germs too. So waiting until he has had 4 mth jabs. It's only for half day so hopefully that reduces the risk. Also don't want to start in winter which is why we are starting in March. See how he goes. Hope he has some fun as well with the other babies.

That's so nice your mum can look after him. My mum can too but not for long stretches as she may get tired so I'll put him in childcare and mum will pick him up after lunchtime. So really he'll only do half days when I start work.

Oh that's so nice you go to Pilates. I can't leave ds with hubby yet as I'm fussy about how he is put down to sleep. I'll have to slowly let hubby do it tho. Maybe when he's a bit older! Hehe. I'm such a control freak!

Ds been napping well today. I think I need to keep him up longer and play more with him. So it wears him out.

From the sound of it, it might be a good idea to send DS to the daycare now so we have a spot in May for sure if the other one doesn't work out. The CCB goes by financial year?

I feel like a big change for DS. Last week was half day daycare and next week is full time babysitting. Yes, it is so important to have me time which i don't have much ever since dS was born. I am also going back slowly. 3 months part time and the full time. DS only needs care when i go back full time but DH can take care of him part time.

Minib, your mom offer isn't too bad. My mom also has such suggestion except she is living in a different country! I feel annoyed when she keeps asking if i want to send DS to her until he is 3 yrs old. Why do i want to have a baby then? Even went out of my way to get one?

I have been trying to get DS to nap more today. Only ended up a grumpy him. I gave up, picked him up despite it has been 1.5 hrs since he was awake. I played with him some more and now he is napping. Geez...really need to worn him out rather than pushing hard. This baby just doesn't get enough nap!

DH has been putting dd to sleep at night for the last few weeks. It's the only time they get to bond. Sometimes he started playing with her like tonight. It annoyed me but it was quite early (6 pm) so I figured if she wakes the next feed strictly no play. So far dd has woken up twice from her night sleep. Thanks DH! I told him no playing and he still did it.

No. Private from year 5 or 7 only. Not primary. Can't afford it. We haven't decided which school as in all girls or co-ed. we couldn't agree on it but have narrowed down to Carey, Caulfield grammar, And PLC.

Mum is awesome. She's really good. The only thing is she's not good at is educating them in English. She can't speak English. But the good thing is my dd can speak two languages. I've already started speaking another language with dd when it's just the two of us.
@bbhope do you mean CCR or CCB? CCB is means tested.

I know someone who has a baby and then send the baby home because they can't look after him here. Childcare didn't quite work out. The child lived overseas for 3 years. I can't do that.

@Minib is it Plc early learning centre that's meant to be really good?

I want co-ed primary and single sex high school.

Aw dh wants time with his girl. That's so cute. Our son has a late bedtime so dh always gets in playtime when his home. I wonder if ds will sleep better if I give him an earlier sleep time?

@bbhope I could never send my child away either but I know it does happen in Asian culture. Oh well at least you tried with the sleep. All you can do is try. @Minib what happened with the Childcare?

Yeah I heard PLC has awesome elc. I'm the same co-ed primary and single sex for secondary. DH doesn't like single sex school. So I haven't convinced him yet.

If you bring forward bed time DH doesn't get play time. I was thinking of pushing mine out to 8 pm. That way he gets some play time and dd can do a quick nap before a proper bed time.

The cc was fine but when the child got sick a bit just like all other kids that go to cc. The parents can't keep taking time off work so they decided to send the son home for the grandparents to look after. The child is back here now as he's in kinder now.

She knows i won't so it is annoying that she keeps bringing it up!

I haven't even thought about school. You ladies are so far ahead!!! We don't even know if we will be here in 3 yrs time anyway.
@Minib: no idea if it is CCB or CCR. LOL. As for CC, this is just what we foresee for now. I might not get my contract renewed. Then, we certainly can't afford CC. I'll try to look for other job but it isn't easy given the mining industry is down. I am not in one but mining dominates the hiring here in WA.

@bbhope I'm not eligible for CCB but def for CCR. So I'll get 50% reimbursed by Centrelink up to $7500 a year. I think that's the rule but there are some changes coming I think.

    Bummer about the job market

Hey how come you aren't sure if you will be here in 3 years? Where do you see yourselves settling in for long term?
