I'm not happy!!! Asked DH who's working from home today to help heating up 60ml of EBM. He heated up 100ml instead and dd don't want extra milk so now I have to throw out 40ml of milk that I pumped at 3 am last night. Argh. So sad. He's in the doghouse. He knows that!

I am sorry @Minib. My mom dumped my 20ml by accident and i was furious! She thought it was left over milk in the fridge.

Do you ladies have a coffee cup holder or organizer for the pram? Thinkig of getting one but can't decide if i should just get the holder or organizer as well.

We do and he plays in it but will never fall asleep in it. That's one thing we never did since birth let ds sleep in our arms or on us.

Oh @Minib I know how that feels. Dh did that once when I first started pumping and he never did that again.

@bbhope I have neither but I think they would both be handy. Especially as ds gets older

@BlondeinBrisvegas as you can see I'm trying to follow textbook suggestion with routine etc. I have been putting her to sleep in her cot for every sleep at home. If we are out then she can sleep in the pram, car, or bjorn. One time she won't sleep at all so I put her in my bed and she fell asleep straight away lol. Another day she fell asleep on the play mat haha. Your routine sounds good and I've been trying to introduce those for 1.5 weeks now. If she gets it now it would be a miracle haha. But in a few weeks hopefully she knows more what's going on. I don't do heaps of patting and shoosing as the dummy does a great job. But maybe I should so if the dummy falls out she's not very upset.
@Gelati it must be hard seeing him scream like that. Mine cried so much yesterday when I tried to take the dummy away. She was hysterical. So upset. The poor little thing.

What we do now is cuddle, sing, talk softly to her how much we love her and it's sleep time now. Then we put her in the cot, pat, ssshh normally follow by a cry so dummy in. Cry stop and she will start to fall asleep until dummy falls out. More patting sshh dummy back in. Repeat until she's asleep.

Maybe we use the dummy too soon instead of just patting and shoosh longer.
@bbhope I also have a swing. Bub has been on it twice. First time she cried. Second time she was happy until she did a massive poo and cried lol.

I don't really let Bub sleeps on me but have let her sleep in bjorn on me a couple times when I couldn't comfort her and she has skipped a proper nap.

I don't have a coffee cup holder or organiser but think it's a great idea.

I use dummy a lot. Whatever to shut him up. Lol. DS is colic so we held him a lot in the past and thus The start of sleeping on us. Reflux babies need to be held upright for 20 mins after feed and DS always fell asleep afterward. Now you know how we started the habit.

BinB knows very well. I also tried the textbook at the beginning. Struggled a lot. Once I realised that every baby and real life is different, I just have to go with the flow. I become less stress about it all.

@Minib the crying is just horrible. I wouldn't even call it crying I would say screaming. Remember when I said ds self soothed 100% at night? Well not only is that gone but he's the hardest to put down at night. I just don't know why. I really hope he gets it back. Again no self soothes today. 😓

@bbhope def whatever it takes. Try ideal way if it works great if not do what you can. Some babies can do the shush and pat. That has never worked with ds. Only shush and hold. And he has never fallen asleep with me in bed. He's just never been a calm baby before sleep. It's not that he wants to sleep with us or wants the company he just wants someone to help him get to sleep.

@Gelati: your DS is like mine. He wants us to help him get to sleep. Same for the nap. That's why all the fuss and crying!

As for feeding, i feel one step forward, few steps backward. Positive to finally switch formula. I have been thinking about it for a long time because Nan comfort just doesn't "agree" with DS. I held onto it because we were about to see the specialist and switching formula will normally 3--4 weeks to see the result. However, i notice that aptamil HA is very watery which makes his reflux worse and less full. Also, he can't do tummy time even 1hr afterward. He vomited while doing the tummy time......

I just tried not to use dummy and after 5 mins I gave her dummy haha. Not because I can't stand her cry but I didn't want her to be too hysterical. I'm ok with dummy seriously as long as she doesn't wake herself up everytime it falls out. So today she's been very tired still after her 6 week jab. After 5 mins of crying I gave her dummy. She fell asleep within minutes. Oh I tried the pat and shush without dummy. Hasn't worked for me yet. Anyway once she's asleep I pulled the dummy out. She grizzled but managed to stay asleep althought lots of grunting. Phew. Baby step. I just want a happy baby. This time i also changed something else. I used the LTD swaddle which I have in my cupboard all this time just not used. Why? I'm not sure haha. This one is up to 6kg so if it works I'll have to get a new one soon.

@Gelati oh you poor thing. Have to retrain DS all over again. Hard work ahead of you!

Another thing that works for us is to use rub her forehead from the nose to forehead. She seems to calm down
@bbhope could it be transitioning period for him? Did paed say what to expect when changing formula?
