Wonderful news @Tanej78! Let 2016 continue to be full of positive news for you

@bbhope so your son can sleep 5 hrs straight now? But you can't sleep because he is too noisy? Can you move cot into living room or another room temporarily?

@Minib - I know the frustration. You're doing great. Hopefully the lactation consultant can give you some more tips. She doesn't have tongue tie does she? Ds had a mild one so we got a professional opinion and then got it snipped and that really helped even if it was only mild case.

Yeh I don't get much per let down so I need lots. First let down only gets 30-50ml and that decreases with each let down.

@bbhope have you tried taking Bub to see osteo that specialise in infant sleeping? I was just reading about it.
@Tanej78 that's awesome re DH's job. Have fun in Brisbane
@Gelati she did have tongue tied and we have clipped if when she was 5 days old. It was very minor and the paed didn't think it would have impacted BF a lot.

Saw another LC who confirmed I've done all the right things but my right boob has low supply. It's hard work so Bub doesn't like it as it's quick to empty it. Left boob is ok but she said overall my supply is probably low given I've had plenty of stimulation plus the motilium. She said hang in there until 6 weeks then reassess if I want to continue but in the meantime she said I should mixed feed. Some BM is better than nothing. 😢

@Minib yes some bm is better than nothing and sometimes the increase just comes overnight so just hang in there. Hopefully you'll see a difference soon.

Is Bub going through growth spurt? Mine did that yesterday. Did my head in and read she could be going through her first growth spurt.

An hour settling for 30 min nap is tiring though. That's very exhausting

Can you pick up the tired cues yet? I can't lol. So I either force her to sleep when she's not tired or overtired. I've just looked at more tired cues online so I'll keep an eye for them.

@Minib: not yet seeing osteo. What's it good for?

Tired cue...hmm. In the last few days, we have given up on the tired cue. It takes ages and a big cry to get DS nap for 30mins. If we tired him out, put him down, only a small cry. Still 30mins. Also after 30mins, if he doesmt want to resettle, we just take him off bed and put him on the swing, playmat whatever. He actually falls asleep sometime. It is less exhausting than forcing him o nap. I know ds doesn't get enough nap but I don't know what else to do and so stressful. Once we go with the flow, feeling less stress.

@Minib it's a bit hard to read so I go by amt of time awake. This time he went straight into cot after and he didn't cry so I thot there would be a chance of self soothe. Almost but couldn't get there then became over tired and nothing would get him down. Eventually used a dummy. I think after 3 nights on my own I was just exhausted as one of those nights he barely slept and the next night I didn't sleep cos too anxious so by last night I just wanted run away and not look back. I'm better today again. It's really just one day at a time. I hope gp says I can come off antibiotics today.

@bbhope Bub can fall asleep on playmat or swing? Wow! No chance for ds to do that

@Tanej78: yeah! Glad to hear the good news!
@Gelati: oh..to your previous question. Yes, we are starting to talk about me moving out of the room. DS is a noisy sleeper and when he is at his light sleep phases, he makes all sort of noises. I get woken up a lot and look at the clock everytime. That's why i said no solid sleep. I normally don't go to bed until 9pm. After putting dS to bed between 7--8pm, time to have dinner and a bit me time. That leaves 4 hrs if i fall asleep straight away, which sometime can be a challenge. As i mentioned, DS schedule is all over the place at the moment. He has just started the transition to one feed overnight. The trouble is that after feeding, his stomach acts up. That's it for me for the night. No more sleep. Also, he is still waking up at 4:30am or 5am. Perhaps this is his 10 hrs sleep? DH keeps getting him back to sleep until 7am, though.

Oh...for the swing and playmat, it only happens once or twice. LOL. I wish he can everytime! DS still can't self soothe, although i told DH to give him a chance especially he tends to be very sleepy in the evening for the night.

I use dummy a lot because he can't put his thumb/fist to the mouth. He doesn't coordinate well just yet.
