@Tanej78 - sorry you really are having it tough right now. I hope it all works out. Maybe it's true that its darkest before dawn. I hope that holds true for you. Any news today? Big hugs
@Minib - it's hard to say sometimes it's trial and error. If she fusses or doesn't feel well you'll know next time. I would def not do more than 60 tho cos she's getting at least 30 from you. That's good she's sleeping well tho.
Bubs is doing so many poos! Like 5 a day big ones. Doesn't look runny anymore. Maybe my milk has increased? He slept so much yesterday. Over a 17 hr period only woke up 3 times. I think if he's getting more milk then he's sleeping longer? I have no idea any other reason why he'd be popping so much more.

Oh @Tanej78 what a crap news to receive about your DH. Just before Xmas and after a really rough year for both of you. Did you find out more info? I really hope it's not a redundancy.

Thanks as always @ScubaGal good to know I'm not doing anything wrong. Haha trying to settle her the other way is a challenge to me still. All she can smell is my milk so she just wants to fall asleep on my boob instead. My mum on other hand has the magic touch. She's always able to soothe her. I guess she has the patience too. I get a tad frustrated with myself and my daughter when she won't settle.
@Gelati wow your Bub is on fire with the poo. I reckon it's your milk supply has increased then. Woohoo!! Do you feel like you have good supply now?? I'm waiting for the day where I don't second guess myself about my supply. It's possible he is fuller so sleeps longer or could it also be another growth spurt?

One step forward two steps backwards @Gelati

She has lost more weight so even the MHN told me to top up with formula. I spoke to paed who pretty much told me my little girl is dehydrated so have to top up.

I feel so bad. Obviously I want to BF as much as I can but I need to make sure my daughter is putting on enough Weight to grow.

So now we are on a plan. I'm on motilium. I have to do 4 quick feeds per session. It's about her getting the let down per boob and repeat twice. Then express every 2 hours. Top her up with EBM if I have some and formula top up maybe every second feed.

MHN said by week 6 we shall find out if I really have supply issue or just not getting enough stimulation.
    @Gelati how's your Bub today?

Oh how stressful for you @Minib. I get so stressed about those weigh ins. Personally I think it's fine to give some top up in the beginnings while you are establishing supply. Just keep expressing as well and make sure she breastfeed before you top up. Breastfeeding really sux!! But your milk will increase. Early days still. Just do what's best for Bub and don't feel guilty if it doesn't look like what you expected. It very rarely does for anyone.

Our son is doing better as the weather has cooled down. As he passes 2 months I'm looking forward to regular 5 hr sleeps although still rarely see them these days. MHN said I should start seeing the 4 hrs stretch out but nothing yet. God they make you stressed don't they?? All these expectations! I've realised that when he has a good big feed he is less fussy and can go to sleep without soothing. I am so jealous of those with good supply. No wonder they can go out and about with Bub as they sleep 2-3 hrs! It's all about enough supply and no tummy problems.

No time to write much. Sleep was going well for 2 days and then something is wrong with Bub in the past 3 days. He doesn't have appetite. I reckon it is the reflux. After a week on the new reflux medication, his reflux seems to get worse. Apparently, the new GP we saw is giving a lot lower dosage than paed. The GP is very useless. I went back today asking for referral to see a specialist. I asked again if he can order some tests for allergy and lactose intolerance. He just said wait and see what the specialist says. Last time, he told me to wait until I got back from ngala. Wtf?! I was basically telling him what to do the entire time I was in there. Feel like we constantly having bad luck with Drs.

Anyhow, @Gelati, very lucky. I can only dream to have 4hrs stretch of sleep. He is nearly 12w and nothing has improved. he still has colic stomach pain. Without solving medical issue, I don't think I feel comfortable going back to work.

    Gtg.

@bbhope yes drs can be so useless. They always seem to dismiss us unless it's a really serous problem and really obvious. Did you get your referral?

Yeh I know it's never enough is it. I'm sure when ur Bub sleeps 4 hrs you'll be hoping for 5 hrs and then sleeping thru the night. DS did even less tonight. 3.5hrs.

@bbhope GP doesn't know everything especially a newborn. I would see a paed for your son instead of GP. They should be much better. Sometimes you need to trust your mothers instinct too. Don't underestimate it.
@Gelati I just changed the breast shield for the pump. I think it wasn't the right size so wasn't giving me the right stimulation. Anyway I managed to express 120ml today. That's a good achievement! The MHN also told us to start Bub on self settle. I thought it's a bit young for that. Sometimes you need to take what they say with a grain of salt. It's not always textbook approach.
@Gelati your bubba 8 weeks now? And @bbhope is 10 weeks? Is that right. I have forgotten the age gap between our babies.
