Woof will your clinic do a follow up scan for peace of mind? I asked for one and I got it. Made me feel much better.

They are doing one at 9 weeks for me as my FS also wants piece of mind before she starts thinking about weaning me off meds.
Then it will just be another 2 week wait til I see my Ob hopefully for the 11/12 week scan.

They've been really good at putting my mind at ease but it still won't be completely at ease! When they invent home ultrasounds so I can just have a little look every few minutes I would be very happy!

Hey girls were your dates inline with the scan? My transfer date put me 4 days ahead of where I am but my doctor said it goes from implant date not transfer date just wondering what your dates were... I thought I was 4 August but actually 7 August at last scan and get another scan in 3 weeks

My date according to transfer would be 11 Aug. My 7w scan (at 7w1d) measured 6w6d ... They said they would call it the 10 Aug based on "ovulation" date ... It's all a bit confusing! But am thinking the 9w scan will give me a better idea of the dates ... Although really I know it's only a ballpark anyway.

When it comes to IVF, knowing exact timing is so much easier than natural. When it comes down to it, going off the transfer date is always going to be the most correct. Just because it had a growth spurt the day before your scan doesn't mean it's actually older than it is (we know it's not, that's impossible!). So yeah even if supposed dates change, don't change your EDD. It's not going to be right anyway (isn't it like 30% of women actually give birth on their due date?) so it's all white noise anyway....

The way I think of it is that your (theoretical) 9yo is 139cm and mine born on the exact same day is 112cm. I'm not going to start telling everyone my son is actually 7 just because he hasn't had his growth spurt yet 😁

@woof5105 - that's so accurate about the ultrasounds! I just want a little machine so I can check til my heart is content. I had another one today just to check things. I'm so paranoid and it's awful I wish it was a natural joyful pregnancy but this IVF cloud is hanging over my head for a while yet. Maybe I will be better after the 12 week scan?!

is anyone buying a fetal doppler?! I kind of want one but no idea which one to get or if they are a waste of money!
@Ruby16 - when is your next scan?! How you traveling?!

I think that's one of the (many) downsides to Ivf Ducky - we spend so much of our time monitoring everything about ourselves and having others monitor everything as well.. so then once a bubs is there and the continual monitoring goes away it's like we're in freefall. Nothing to check nothing to do ...

Hope everything went well with your scan today. I'm having a 2nd one end of next week. And have told myself I will relax once we get to 12 weeks. I think I'll relax a smidge after next weeks scan too as 9 weeks is when we lost the last one so that's kind of the point in my head where the most worry lies.

Oh and yes - I was thinking of getting a home Doppler but no idea if they are worth it. I've also got a retroverted uterus which they say can make it more difficult to pick up the sound until later on when it all turns up the right way.
