Completely normal!!! My DS didn't do any childcare either. He started playschool at 3 and cried for 3 terms and then again cried for 3 terms of kindy and Prep. He is now in grade 1 - had a week or 2 of tears in term one, but has been great since. Childcare would not have made a difference, it's just his personality. He is a well adjusted little boy now and loves school.

Totally normal! I am an Early Childhood teacher with 13 years experience in school, preschool & childcare. Some kids cry and cling at drop off at either childcare, preschool OR school, and IME it is a personality thing, not based on whether or not a child went to childcare at a younger age. My own daughter clung and cried at preschool. Keep communicating with the teachers, & it sounds like they are doing a great job helping to settle her in. I find kids also settle easier when they are attending more regularly, so she will hopefully get used to it and settle in with time next year. Take it at her pace & know that many kids do the same thing.
