@Blossom74 don't feel bad about going back to your previous FS. I agonised over changing FS's. The opposite to you, but my mate who is seeing the same FS#1 as me, thought I was stark raving mad for changing as she loves FS#1. It's fine for us on the boards to have opinions, but it's you who has to go through it. You just do what's right for you, we are all here to support you through the journey that you choose, no matter what. Also I'm massively excited for you that you have a plan and a way forward!
@Sue77 good luck for your fresh transfer tomorrow!
@Tahli hoping you are home safe and sound and frosties are bunking in well.

AFM, well actually not me, but my mate who you may recall got 3 blasts, transferred one and got a BFP to then have it go down to zero again on blood test #2. Well she got her PGD results back on the other two today. Both abnormal, one a trisomy, one missing a chromosome. Randomised results. She was really sad to get the news of course, but is thinking of cycle #6 in March after working with a naturopath for the next couple of months. So yes it's cr@p, but she has a way forward. And i think she is thinking that if cycle #6 is not the magic cycle (if she can get some to PGD test again), then it's onto DE for cycle #7.

Hope everyone else is doing well out there. Looking forward to some POAS action in the next week or so from you gals

Thanks @Corbes Hopefully it's the right decision for us and we're not throwing bad money after good. I'm really sad for your friend though. That's my worst fear - that I'll get follies, have them tested, and they'll all come back duds. There are no more attempts for us after this, so if we can't get a good egg out of it we have no baby and no money either. I really hope we catch a break somewhere....

@Sue77 ive done acupuncture for most of my cycles not usually before transfer as i would sometimes go to work first but usually after. I found acupunct good for egg quality.

She said that the embryologist said it was a 60% chance of abnormal embies at 41 which is similar odds to what I heard. So she is going to try another cycle and if she is lucky enough to get a blast to test and comes back abnormal again, she will probably move onto the next chapter. So yes it sucks, but it's another piece of information in the puzzle which allows us all to make educated decisions. Hopefully the force will be with you when it's your turn, fx.

Yes, exactly the reasons why I am considering testing for this round.

I wonder, what are the odds of success for a 41 year old woman with a PGD tested emby?

Does that increase the chance of pregnancy above the pre-existing 5-10% success rate estimate?

You are no crazier than the rest of us love. At least you know there are no residual drugs showing up a false positive now. Any line that appears will be genuine

@Blossom74 i read somewhere that a normal pgd embie was the same success rates as a younger woman but its harder for us to get to a normal tested embie if that makes sense. I agree pgd testing is the way to go.

If we go ahead, and I still want to chat with the FS to make sure it's the right thing to do, ideally I'd like to wait until next year. Sometime around late Jan/Feb but I suppose a lot of that depends ion my cycle, so who knows, lol. I guess I'd have to be a bit flexible with that

ETA: Yep, I'll be taking 3 of the DHEA per day too.

@Blossom74 I'd check how they pick the ideal sperm as a good looking one can be a dud. We thought we were getting a carefully chosen ideal sperm for cycle 1-4, but it was just one that the scientist thought looked good. I don't usually get annoyed easily, but when I learnt about PICSI I was furious, so now I want everybody to know.

DHEA I think they recommend 3 months, but FS said he has seen it work faster.

With 3-day PGD it increases to 20-25% they said - "the clutch and the breaks are also a bit older". I've read with the 5-day though that some doctors claim it equals the chance of a younger woman's embie. The 3-day PGD sucess rate might also be if you transferred/froze it at day-3?
So excited for you that you have a plan.
