A full cycl3 cost $500 epu $445 for icsi $160 for trigger then script fees it cost me under 1200 they freeze all and your fet is bulk billed you just pay script fees. We do ivf due to mfi so I can go through a no frills clinic I dont need any extra attention.
@meshel when do you start testing from? When should you be able to get a true result? If you test too early it could be negative and change to positive if you're not producing enough hcg, is that correct?

Finally home with a hatching blast on board! Got one blasty to freeze, and two are a bit behind so they are letting them grow one extra day. We'll find out in about 10 days if they were good enough to freeze.

Thank you all for the support ❤️

We just paid $3,800 for our FET plus $330 hospital fee but it's our first for the year so no medicare limit and don't have private health at the moment.

It's sooo expensive isn't it, especially when for those ladies that do cycle after cycle.

Is anyone with the bulk billing clinics?
@razzyBear I am at Primary IVF. My out of pocket for my first cycle was $450. Thats all meds, day surgery and appts, ET, scans, BT's.. Any FET is free. And as for success, just jump on our Primary thread and have a look. A lady in her first IVF got 3 eggs, 2embys, transferred a day 3 and just found out she is preg. Im on my 2nd round and its even cheaper as Ive changed the drugs ($115) Its not all hand holding, but we still get 24hr nurse contact and a cuppa tea after EPU. Im happy.. But thats just my experience..

    Wow, major difference in prices!

My worry is that they are busy and rushed etc and I would feel like wham bam in and out which is probably crazy! Has it ever felt like that? Although I can't say we have dealt with our actual dr a whole heap.

If we had to do another full cycle I would consider it as we don't have major problems and it is much cheaper.

Hmm, I'm not sure actually @razzyBear ! Hopefully she didn't take that into account when she was giving me the figures and we'll get a bit more back than I think!

I don't know of any bulk billing clinics over here, and because of my other health issues I probably need a bit more specialised care . I've already changed from another FS clinic which was very much "one size fits all" and I was having huge problems with them not taking my other medical issues (thyroid, haematomachrosis etc) into account. If I had followed that doctors instructions re medications etc I'd be in a world of trouble right now! :/

I really like the FS we have now, and I don't think we'd change again, but the costs are just freaking me out a bit.

Razzy what is your reason for ivf? Some clinics are quite tailored to suit individual needs and some are like a blanket treatment for all patients. I dont have any medical reason ivf we just do it for icsi so I dont mind with one plan suits all. I have never felt rushed at either clinic. I got a phone call today to see how I felt after transfer they also called me to see how I felt after transfer

We have unexplained so the only thing I can think is we had trouble with the sperm penetrating the egg which ICSI solved so similar to you in ways

Nope, Im in Syd, but I hear Primary just opened in Melb. I cant compare it to anything, as this is our first stop. Money is not the issue for us, but we have secondary IF, our son was conceived without a hitch and we are very blessed to have him (he is 8). But now this is a compromise that we are not spending a fortune on IVF when it could go to our sons future & schooling. I think there is also BumpIVF in North Sydney that has similar pricing.

Maybe its worth a go if couples don't have big issues. But it is busy. I dont like warm & fuzzy, Im pretty straight up, so it suits me.
