Default Unique Xmas presents for babies?

I have a few new nieces and nephews to buy for this year. They both come from huge families of over indulgent aunties/uncles/grandparents, and I don't want to double up! So I'm looking for ideas of unique presents, I have thought of getting an embroidered beach towel for each of them (starting swimming lessons soon) but I need other ideas too. What was a good/different present your bubs got?

Check out National Geographic. They have an online shop and have pretty cool experiments for all age groups. Maybe some tickets to the movies or a local event coming up?

Maybe try Identity Direct for other personalised goods?

Look at the lost my name books. They are personalised to a kids name eg Kylie who looses her name and goes on an adventure finding animals and her name - kangaroo yak lizard iguana elephant. You get a few choices for each letter in the name.

I second the lost my name books. All my friends kids and dd's friends have been receiving a book for their birthday. I feel like I'm keeping them in business but they are wonderful little stories
