Talking Girls name with Asian last name

    Hi ladies,

DH and I are looking for ideas on girl names to go with the last name "Yuan". The list we've got so far is:

    Olivia
    Jade
    Layla
    Amelia

    Any thoughts/ideas please?

I love Olivia and Amelia with that last name.

The nickname for Olivia sounds very feminine and strong paired with Yuan. Liv Yuan.

    Beautiful names. Congratulations.

The Olivias I know just get Ollie or Livvie, I don't think Olive is a very common nickname (as it's a name on its own too).

I think first names ending in "a" sound great with your surname.

    Olivia
    Layla
    Amelia

All get the thumbs up from me.

I'd say it was extremely rare. Like Emily being shortened to Emma. Olive is a stand alone name so I very much doubt someone would shorten Olivia to Olive.
