There has been a reported case of whopping cough in a neighbouring town to us.
Why people run such a risk I have no idea. And the risk isn't even on them it's on their own kids! Or their neighbours kids!
so if your kid has been vaccinated, and other haven't been, and there ends up being a whooping cough outbreak at the daycare centre/school etc, is your vaccinated kid protected or still at risk?
I'm always confused. I thought vaccination stopped them getting sick but I'm guessing there's still a risk?
Vaccines don't stop you getting the disease, they lower the severity. Also not a doctor, but that's my understanding in a nut shell.
I am all for this no jab no pay. About time. Same goes for the vaccine only Childcare centres. Fully support both and don't know why it hasn't happened sooner.
