    Default Kindergarten class sizes

DS starts school next year and he has 20 in his kindergarten class which I thought was big but this afternoon his friend who is going to the local catholic school next year mum just told me he has 30 in his class!! Is there a minimum class size ( we are in NSW) and how many kids were in your child's kindy class?

20 maximum in ours with one teacher and one full time teacher's aide. We're in WA.

22 maximum at our kindy here. It's a C&K one. It was 24 last year but back down to 22 this year.

    ETA: This is in Qld

I think the limit for Kindy in nsw is 1 teacher to 24 kids as there was 24 in my sons class and they got an unexpected latecomer and they had to make an extra class.
The 30 in the catholic system is likely an open learning class with 2 teachers

20 I think is our max, this is for public though. Catholic, and I think private, have much larger numbers.

20 is the limit in NSW for public schools. 30 for Kinder is crazy.

    This!

Maximum 20 kids in first year of school in nsw public schools.

Two of my friends send their kids to catholic primary schools. One has 32 in each class and the other has 35!

Not sure of limit in private schools.

My daughter had 17/18 last year in kindy. This was the local public school

My youngest is going to a private kindy. Maximum 20 with 3 full time teachers in the room. Depends on the school.

How could 1 teacher teach 35 kids!
DS has a teacher plus a teachers aid in his class apparently and that's for 20 ( private school) hopefully they would have to provide a teachers aid for 30 kids?
