Default Going to be 20weeks pregnant on our wedding day . What dress is best ?

So I've recently found out I'm pregnant and I'm almost 7 weeks 😁 very early days but I'm getting married on 4th March next year and will be 20 weeks on the day , I'm just wondering if anyone else has been in the same situation and what kind of dress you wore ? I have my dress already but I have no idea how big a bump is at 20 weeks !

Congratulations! Both for baby and your wedding😀

Whilst I was pregnant when we got married I was only 5wks so didn't have a bump.

Each pregnancy is so individual and everyone carries differently. You most probably will have a bit of a bump by then - more than a 'has she just eaten a big lunch or is that a baby' type bump. Have a google of 20 wks pregnant and you'll be able to find heaps of bump shots to get an idea of a general size.

Is your dress able to be altered? If it's an empire type dress it should be ok. Talk to your dressmaker about it or find a great dressmaker who could make suggestions.

Best wishes with it all 😀

I bought my dress before i got pregnant. It was a beautiful princess dress, with a corset type top part. Not great for a pregnant belly. But i could not afford a new one and would not have got the full price back if i sold it either. I was 18 weeks on my wedding day and the panel on the back only just covered my skin when it got laced up. By the end of the night i was so desperate to get it off, the boning in it was digging in and very painful.
If i could do it over again I'd get something babydoll style, fitted over boobs and free flowing everywhere else. That way your bump has room to grow and it's comfortable. Also laceup at the back is your friend!! My boobs went up a cup size in the span of a week which was hard for the lady altering my dress. She had to make a special larger back panel for my dress 😨

I'll be 27 weeks when I get married on dec 12. The dress that I originally bought is tiny and corset like it's beautiful and I can't even get it past my knees Lol. So I chose a dress similar to the above one I'll try find a photo, it's kinda like a bridesmaid dress that is fitted around the boobs and then just flows. I've put on a lot of weight, maybe you won't and your dress may still fit you. I found that when trying on wedding drsesses when pregnant they were extremely uncomfortable

I wasn't pregnant, but had a 9 month old and a fairly relaxed wedding. My dress was a bridesmaid dress made in white. Google Mr K, that's where mine was from.

    Good luck!

I was 20 weeks on our wedding day too. My dress was a Paco formal dress. I bought it too big and my mum altered it the week leading up to the wedding. I'll post a pic, you can kind of see it!ImageUploadedByThe Bub Hub1448249661.541072.jpg

That's a beautiful picture ! I have my dress already and it's a lace up back and is tight fitting , I'm thinking i could possibly make the back panel bigger and not lace it up so tight , but then it might not go over my hips or bum by then , I will get another dress if I need to but I don't want to spend a lot . It will be my first baby so I really don't know what to expect when it comes to the size of a bump at 20 weeks . I'm a size 10 -12 now so I'm hoping i don't go big everywhere .

It is hard to know!! If it makes you feel any better, my dress was only about $300 so if you do need to get another dress I'd recommend you look for one that comes under the 'formal dress' banner instead of another wedding dress, you will probably save a lot of money!! I didn't put on a lot of weight with either of my pregnancies (and after Bub is born I have come out of hospital weighing less than pre-preg due to bad morning sickness) but my body shape has definitely changed!
