I was 22 when we did IVF. Young, healthy and doing it because my partner is another woman.

I got 8 eggs. Only 3 fertilised... We we're devastated. 3!? But our doctor said 'quality not quantity, these are good eggs!'. 3 years later and one of our precious eggs is now our beautiful daughter. It only takes one!!!

@Tinachris you are absolutely right, we should be and are grateful that we've still got 3, I just hope that they stay healthy. I'm so sorry to hear that you haven't had luck yet. Has your doctor provided any explanation for the low egg numbers? How was the quantity and quality of the follicles on the ultrasound before the retrieval? A lot of people say that they learn more from each cycle, do you feel that is true?
I expected waiting for the pregnancy test to be the hardest part but it is clear now that I was getting ahead of myself, as this stage is far from easy.

@Best Things that is reaffirming, thank you. The technician didn't sound positive about the 3 at all, but I may have been reading too much into her tone. I hope the 3 are quality! So happy for you to have a beautiful daughter. Will you and your partner try IVF again for more children?
@itsgunnahappen That helps so much! Reading all your comments is a great reminder that I just need to stay positive. After the phone call this morning, I felt really negative.

I think we'll ask to speak to someone from Repromed before implantation on Monday, just for some reassurance that at least one is still healthy. Does anyone know if they still implant if it doesn't look healthy?

@MrsZebu before retrival I only had two good looking follies so I knew what I was in for with egg collection, I guess.. I have low AMH which means low eggs for my age so I don't expect a lot of eggs but first cycle I got 8 from 5 follies. 5 fertilized and 2 grew to day 5 morulas but ended up in bfn.. I was on 300 of gonal f but I don't know what to think. Specialist apologized but what can u do?? I'm changing specialists which probably doesn't surprise you..
Yes, the embryos in the lab part had me on edge for the whole time from retrival to being put back in me. I'd stim with needles for a year easily compared to that!!

@MrsZebu yes as far as I know they think it's better to give them a chance in you than not transfer because you just never know, it might just keep growing even if it is a bit behind growth wise.

Hi, I did Ivf it went well, got a bit hyper stimulated but not enough to have to treat or delay cycle. Preggers first go, minimal side effects compared to what I'd heard. Mine was needed dt endo. We decided to open a good bottle of wine for every step good or bad, ET, bloods, Drs appts etc....I could barely drink half a glass when not well but was still nice....I used a local anaesthetic spray before injections which meant I barely felt them.

The technician wasn't positive with us either. He said DD was 'only 3BB' when we asked what her embryo grade was.

FS said he thought we'd get pregnant. He was right!
