Default WWYD if you found an iPod?

    Deleted for personal reasons.

Sorry, a bit of real life intruded. It was interesting to read your responses. Thank you.

Honestly I would have handed it straight in to the airline staff. The person would surely have realised it was lost on the plane (if they used it on the plane) and contacted lost property straight away.

They wouldn't think to find it at someone else's house!

Nb I never check my iCloud address and would have no idea how to use the find my iPhone thing

I would have handed it in at the airport.
My SIL left her mini ipad on a plane a few weeks ago. She left her contact details at the airport she landed at and was contacted a few days later to come and collect it. Someone found it and handed it in
    She was thrilled

I also would have handed it in at the airport, as I'd assume there would be a high chance that the iPod owner would contact the airport to try and find it.

I'm not concerned about their lost and found policy, I just want to do the right thing and have a clear conscience.

Ooh iCloud email address - will I be able to find that on a slightly older iPod? One of the rectangular ones? I found one on the street a while ago and tried to post it as lost on some local neighbourhood FB pages but like you its just been sitting on a shelf. I don't want the thing but not sure what to do with it.

How did you find the iCloud email address? Settings?

How does he know it hadn't been reported missing? Did he check with both the airline and the airport?
Was there any way of contacting the airline who could get in contact with the passenger?

I would have handed it in immediately. Since that's no longer an option, I'm really not sure? Perhaps wrap it and put under the kmart wishing tree? I couldn't keep it or profit from it in any way.

I'm really hoping this doesn't come across as being a judgmental cow because I obviously don't know your DH at all, but what a bad lapse in judgement. He really should hand lost property over immediately.
