I w as shocked to wake up to this news this morning. So many different instances and they showed no regard for human life in the process. I just heard that the hostage situation is now over with the two hostage takers killed. They weren't even bothering to hide their identities while they were shooting hostages one by one. They obviously didn't expect to survive. I was thinking as I heard that they had been killed that I wished they weren't so that they could face the full brunt if the law. They've gotten off lightly whilst causing pain and heartache to the rest of the world.

I feel really helpless right now.

It seems like the human race is devolving, learning nothing, like peace is so far removed from a possible reality.

I remember marching through the streets when hundreds of thousands of Australians were protesting against our proposed involvement in Iraq, and since then is has been war, millions of displaced people, terrorism, segments of the population are disenfranchised the world over and shunned as 'other' in their own countries which breeds hatred.

I am so sick of fighting, `an eye for an eye and the whole world goes blind', I just can't see an end to this.

    Two reasons

For our military actions in Syria and against Daesh
And also for France being the European country with the largest Muslim community. They want them to be ostracised.

They were wearing suicidal vests and blew themselves up...

Another way to make more victims. They don't want to get caught to protect the rest of the network and that's their way of reaching paradise in their stupid ideology.

That's what makes them so dangerous. They WANT to die.

And maybe also because France has taken a firm secular stance when it comes to banning religious symbols, such as face coverings, in government/state institutions.

For sure. It's also very easy to access France because of our geographical location.
All of that makes us number one target for Daesh. 😞

I didn't realise France was engaged in military action in Syria. Who are they supporting? I greatly respect Francois hollande's speech but I don't know who they're going to be 'merciless' against. That seems to be the problem at the moment. These disjointed groups of people with no clear leader. It makes everything so hopeless.

They are far from being disjointed which makes them very dangerous. There is so many of them that traditional intelligence can't keep tabs on all of them 😱

For now we are just all hoping that the attacks are over but we don't even know if all the attackers have been accounted for. It's terrifying.

I've just woken up to this, I went to bed early last night. Being in London, I just feel like 'f**k, where to next?' You have the US and UK making statements that the Russian airplane crash was a bomb with the local IS claiming responsibility due to Russia participating in air strikes, and now these Paris attacks. Isis is a completely new kind of terrorist, they're recruiting people actually in the country via social media making it seem glamorous and making it so hard to police and keep track of.

Absolutely terrible, my thoughts and prayers are with the people of France.
I had an ivf embryo transfer this morning. It puts in perspective that whilst ivf is very hard, we are indeed so fortunate every day. Hug your families close.
