It would have to apply across the board. The fee's are the same irrespective of FS.

Second, the nurses will hold a BS in nursing, so it's not like they are unqualified off the street. I'm sure they can be trained, but I agree you'd want them to know what they are doing.

I had a look at the site, and they still say it's covered. Where is the source of this info?

@sky76 least you've got the nasal spray as an excuse, what's mine lol I'm pretty angry and I'm not on the spray lol seriously very disappointing that pay for so many blood test but now to be told the nurses are doing the ultra sound and not a qualified ST isn't really good enough. My previous clinic the specialist used to do them. Monash are really disappointing me atm and i'll be writing a letter of concern.

Honest question: If they can't bulk bill, are patients able to claim the charges via Medicare?

But even so, am happy to store up receipts and go in once as long as we actually get the rebate in the end.

I wish we could find out more. I hope Medicare is still actually covering our IVF bloods? I hope it's not a case of just having to pay in full and that's it?
OMG - don't go in. Get the app. It's clunky, but so great to not have to go in to claim.

Take action to stop the cuts & sign the petition
Thanks Skye that's the petition I signed last week when I had to do blood for ivf. I was trying to find on line after the test and couldn't find it.
Sorry ladies i shocked you but i worded it incorrectly its not Monash its all over so no, medicare will no longer cover your blood tests. This is not just ivf bloods but anyone that wants a blood test which will stop people that are feeling unwell to go and have a test due to finances. Today I went to have a bulk billed scan as well and I saw another petition which of course I signed which means scans etc will have the medicare rebate for us reduced. Sorry I don't like talking about politics but that's the Libs for you!

    Default Bulk bill

    Hi guys
Firstly you can do all your claims through the Medicare app, you take photo's of the bill then put the claim through. The only negative thing to this is sometimes they don't work or don't go through properly, I have had to call on many occassions as I hadn't heard back from them and it turned out it hadn't gone through properly. I just had to keep on doing it.
I didn't think blood tests were covered by Monash? I know when I first started out with my Monash FS I had to go to bulk billing pathologists which was covered through Medicare. After 1 July it wont be. Also pap smears fall in this category as well so yes have to pay for pap smears too.
    :-(

Scratch booked in for the 30th so we are officially back on the IVF wagon. I'm also meeting with my nurse and finance that day so I'll ask about the fees / bulk billing.

Good luck! Don't forget to take pain killer an hour before the scratch - no one told me and I was in some pain/discomfort
