    Hmmm i havent heard that. Both my naturopath and obstetrician have both ok'd it. Even the naturopath was going to give me a form of folic acid. Ppl with MTHFR dont absorb folate so need a higher dose of folic acid. I hope thats right??

    @SophJ @MND

    I was told megafol too originally but all I was reading contradicted that... So I started on the Thorne pregnany vitamin and I just bought solgar folate

    I think the confusing part is we can't absorb folic acid, so naturally get told to consume higher doses but that doesn't help but build up unabsorbed.... I saw a naturopath who said confirmed what I read...

    I just had a phone consult with a naturopath from fertile ground. She said its a grey subject and most Dr's don't keep up to date with supplements. She told me to take folinic acid which i already had at home to keep the naturopath happy and just the smaller dose of megafol to keep dr happy. She said no harm in taking both. Keep on prenatal vitamins, fish oil, vit d and aspirin. I also have a metagen B12 folate which she said to keep taking. It contains all the b vitamins for folate absorption. Don't feel so confused now.
