@SophJ have u POAS yet? Hope all is going well?
@MND, I have and its BFN. Disappointed but I'm ok with it. For some reason I didn't think it would work this time. We transferred a PGD normal hatching 5day blast. I still it is my crappy lining that wouldn't allow any embryo implant. I have booked an appointment to see prof Vancillie so I could check ashermans, and also had a phone consult with Dr M and dos some blood tests to check natural killer. Not thinking any further than that. We are taking one step at a time.
@Faiths love not sure if you have been back to see Lynn yet but I saw her last week and found she didn't rush and actually I was the one getting ready to leave and she kept talking to me!! Not that I'm
complaining at all, I was just taken by surprise haha. Maybe it just depends on the day...
@Tanej78 we had a lap/hyst on the same day! I too had a bit of a shock learning what was done but I'm not sure why because I seem to just expect bad news every time I speak to a doctor these days!!
Hey Ladies, I'm new to this forum but after some help. I've completed 4 rounds of IVF with Lynn and so far not been successful.
1st cycle cancelled low responder
2nd cycle 8 follicles/3 eggs collected didn't get past day 2
3rd cycle 9 eggs collected, 6 fertilised and 1 made it to blastocyst - had to do a frozen cycle that time and no joy
4th cycle 3 eggs collected all fertilised, transferred a day 3 - blood test today and unsuccessful and currently waiting on PGD results on our blastocyst from this cycle.
Each cycle has been with ICSI and with drugs and surgery fees I estimate we're out pocket approx $20K-$25K.
Every time I've met with Lynn I've felt that she's not even looked at my notes regarding my previous/unsuccessful cycle. It's as if she's looking at my details for the first time I'm sat in front of her! Has anyone had similar experience or am I being too sensitive?
I know that some people will have spent double the amount we've spent and I know that Lynn is one of the best but is she worth it? Does she care? Will she be honest at some point if she feels we're wasting or time/money and energy? Are there any other cheaper quality options that anyone can recommend?
Sorry for rambling. Never wrote on any of these forums before! Any advice would be helpful.
I'm doing my first cycle with Lynn and am interested in the answers to this question
Sorry to hear about your negative test and experiences so far.
I think we all have different expectations from a specialist. I am sure others will share their thoughts with you, but i've been a patient of Lynn's for about a year and she recently agreed with me that it was probably best to stop trying with my own eggs and for that reason I trust her. I guess it's difficult for a doctor to make a call because they just don't know if that next cycle will be the successful one or not. And everyone's case is different.
I saw another specialist before Lynn and after my 2nd cancelled cycle with him he raised the subject of donor eggs. I can't even tell you the shock I had at hearing this in my early 30's!! So I would suggest speaking with her to ask what she believes your next steps/options could be so you can make an informed decision. And perhaps getting a second opinion from a different doctor for peace of mind?
hi @dalym - no your not rambling hun, a lot of people feel that about Lynn that she rushes you and doesn't look at your results properly. I'm meeting with her today and telling her how I feel she's rushing my case and not being thorough as I've had to remind her of a couple of things which she would easily figure out if she read my case properly. I really believe we are paying 10's and 10's of thousands and need to tell her how we are feeling (in a polite way of course).
