    Default High HCG…twins?!

    Hi there

I am currently 4 weeks, 6 days pregnant and am wondering about the possibility of having twins. I got quite an early bfp (9/10dpo) that wasn't faint and my hcg results have been quite high.

    3 + 4 weeks/ 13 dpo = 120
    3 + 6 weeks/ 15 dpo =341
    4 + 4 weeks/ 20 dpo = 4400

I am super sure of my dates as I was having fertility treatment and took a trigger injection on 21/10 (CD12). I did have two dominant follicles originally but one kind of dropped off by trigger, wasn't expected to release, and at 7dpo there was only one corpus luteum. Other than the trigger injection and luteal support meds I took no other hormonal drugs, but I do tend to release two eggs sometimes naturally (they have caught it on ultrasound).

I had a tummy ultrasound today and easily saw one sac that had grown quite a bit in the last few days ( I am being monitored carefully as have history of recurrent miscarriage and have had some spotting).

I asked my doc about the possibility and he said he can only see one sac, but it is still really early and obviously can't rule it out until I have a later u/s.

I am interested in hearing about twin mummy's hcg levels…I know everyone is different but this pregnancy seems a lot stronger than my pregnancy with DS. I am already throwing up and not even five weeks. I feel quite daunted by the prospect of twins..particularly identical twins as I know there are risks in the pregnancy!

    Any advice or experience welcome

If it's any help, my hcg was 5200 at 21 dpo and I had horrible nausea just before 5 weeks and only one in there. High progesterone can indicate twins but you still could have just a singleton.

That's a decent number but def still in the real for a singleton. Might have to wait for the next scan!
