Default Looking for an ob supportive of vbac in melbourne

    Hi

I'm not pregnant at the moment and have not even started ttc. I'm just doing some research at the moment and would really like the option of a vbac. Can anyone recommend an ob? I don't mind which hospital they are based out of as I will need to travel no matter what given where I'm located.

feel free to pm me if you'd prefer

I'm keen to hear recommendations or negative feedback(I think this needs to be pm'd)

    thanks in advance

Try Emily Olive. She is based at St Vincent's but also delivers at the Epworth Freemasons and I think maybe France's Perry. I don't know her specific thoughts on vbac but she specialises in high risk and foetal medicines. She is absolutely brilliant so I think would give you a very honest and thorough recommendation.

Dr Guy Skinner!! He is lovely and has a wonderful team of midwives available for you to call with any questions. He is very pro-natural birth (in a non-judgey way) and is super supportive of VBACs! I attempted a VBAC with him but sadly it wasn't to be (breach baby, bicornuate uterus and various other medical issues). But I have a few friends who have all had VBACs with him. Guy is based at St Vincent's but also delivers at the Freemasons.

He is really just the nicest man and a wonderful doctor. I cannot recommend him highly enough. I can't imagine anyone else being more supportive of a VBAC.

I can recommend David O'Callaghan at St Vincent's (he also goes from Freemasons too) - he delivered my twins naturally and is very low intervention/pro natural birth. He was awesome, my pregnancy, labour and delivery were great - and his fees are very reasonable.

I've also heard great things about Lionel Stienberg whose rooms are next to David's at St Vincent's - his nickname is Lionel Vaginal apparently, he's also very pro natural birth!
