@Charlie74 - I would think you should have a good chance of getting at least two. I saw my FS on Friday and he went through my report and I had 5 from 6 still going on day 3 at the right stage and then by day 5 had 3 still going and day 6 ended up with two which could be tested and the third one had slowed down and not grown much between day 5 and 6.

Question. PGD results are due Thurs/ Fri. Saw FS on Friday and am tracking cycle ( currently day 12) to prepare for a transfer if the roulette wheel spins my way and I get a normal embryo. The pessimist / realist in me says not to waste this cycle and BD anyway so if the results are bad at least I won't have wasted a precious month. At 42.5 they are like gold. I know I will kick myself if the results are bad and I've lost a month. I have already lost a lot of time ( IUI March, fluid in uterus problem April, d and c June to clear lining. First cycle July, wasted August waiting in abnormal PGD result, Sept tried naturally as FS was away so since Feb when I first saw FS I've really only had 3 attempts at a pregnancy two IVF cycles and one month natural). My FS has of course told me not to BD in case I am able to transfer a normal embryo this cycle. What would you do?

Hi @Green lady, I hope you don't mind me weighing in although I doubt that what I'm going to say will be helpful! I've only had 2 cycles of IVF and probably because we were so green we did everything we were told by the doctor. It felt ridiculous after years of ttc, all of a sudden using birth control while in the middle of the IVF cycle. I'm 43 so like you, every month is sacred. Next cycle, will we BD? I don't know but I completely understand how you feel. All I can say is it's a personal decision and you do what you think is best for you and your partner.

@Countrygirl72 - I am the same, I couldn't understand the going on the pill thing either and have done everything ' by the book' so far. My dh is no help in the decision and leaves it all up to me!

    BD of course Luv!!!😁

Plus my FS believes in BD prior to & after transfer. Reckons the sperm & all the nutrients etc in it are good for the lining😊

What would be the chances at this age of conceiving twins anyway?? Even lower than normal I expect when it would be from 1 emby & 1 natural.

@Green lady I would BD. The odds of both methods being successful are minuscule. And would two be so bad? Better than none ( so I keep telling myself )
