    Default Do I Smell?

    Hi Guys,

I had a really crap day yesterday and I feeling sad and sorry for myself today

Firstly my MIL cancelled coming to babysit for me AGAIN, causing me HUGE problems with my work (I said I would do some bits and pieces for them during maternity leave and I keep cancelling on them).

Second, my Dad called and I asked him when he was going to come to meet his 6 month old grandson (I have been hassling him for ages).

He admitted that his wife is having issues with my baby b/c she would have liked one with my Dad and now she is jealous of ppl with babies!!!!!!! I can understand feeling sad if you missed out on having a baby but making it difficult for your husband to meet his own grandchild????????????

I feel so hurt and dissappointed with my Dad for not just saying "sorry, but this is too important....."

To top it all off, a mother from my birth class who I have been trying to have coffee with for weeks, cancelled for the THIRD time (hence, do I smell?).

All this on my birthday too!

Can I ask why your dad hasnt seen your bub in 6 months? I think he should leave his wife at home - she is being totally irrational and seems to be only thinking of herself. Hugs to you!

I know how you feel about people cancelling - people do it to me and also at the last minute and I finally hit the roof at a friend over it the other day. I'm sick of hearing peoples excuses! Dont they know not to mess with a pregnant woman?

You might not smell - but it might be a booger hanging out of your nose

Melski - you must smell terrible. (kidding) What a sad birthday, I hope it got lots better for you as the day went on.

Let's face it, some days just suck.

I have issues with my sister who hasn't seen ds yet - he's 9.5 months! Just because she couldn't get pregnant, she now hates me for having a baby! I don't know the answer, but I do understand how you feel.

You know what...... Sometimes people can just be so thoughtless!!
I'm sorry your birthday was a bit of a disaster...
DEfinately find a new sitter!! As for your Dad, tell him how you feel!!! Men usually don't "get" us women!! Although you'd think he'd want to meet his own Grandson!!??

Pretend today is your Birthday & treat yourself to something you love!! YOU DESERVE IT!!!!! (I'd be buying chocolate LOL it's my fav LOL)

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

    Default Poor Melski

    Hi Melski

You don't smell - some ppl just have a few kangaroos loose in the top paddock IYKWIM? It is totally unreasonable for your dad not to have seen his GS (I'm sure you know this already). If psycho chicken can't deal, she should stay at home.

And don't let your friend cancelling get you down, its nothing to do with you and ALL ABOUT HER. There are some ppl you just can't take at thier word.

Seek out honourable ppl and surround yourself with them. You need ppl who build you up, not suck away your energy.

    Cheers

hi melski, im so sorry your special day sucked. it must hurt that your dad is not telling this woman to shove it, but it is his loss. like os mum said, i think you need to organise another regular sitter, someone you can rely on, otherwise work is just going to stop ringing....

hope you have a better day today, maybe decide that today is your b/day instead!

Goodness what a day! Hugs to you and Happy Birthday too!

It is also unfair of your dad and I definetly see your reasoning there too. Surely he could come on his own if the wife was that upset? Perhaps offer that as a suggestion to him, but if that is not successful I don't know what you can do there. But how upsetting and frustrating.

It is so annoying when people cancel at short notice too. I had one friend cancel me when I was in the car in her suburb and a block away from her street. She rang me on the mobile. I was gobsmacked at the rudeness of it. I was quite shocked. People are getting shocking these days with short notice cancelling. I think that cancelling at short notice is okay with a very good reason, but people seem to cancel for very little sometimes. That is when it is annoying.

Hang in there and hope that your day gets better!
