@Blossom74 your neighbour is a right royal b&atch for leaving her pets alone like that. Thank god there are people like you in this world!
Hi girls, I arrived safe and sound in Cape Town but exhausted. I checked into the Vineyard, enjoyed an amazing massage and gorgeous lunch. Some pre FET tlc. Now I'm back in my room for a snooze.
I have 2 embryos left from SD1 and I'm thinking I might change the game plan. I think I might thaw both in the morning and transfer both if they thaw well. If only 1 thaws well then I'll know the other 1 was never meant to be. Am I crazy?
Glad to hear you are there safely. I reckon theres no harm as long as you are fully prepared if both take? Go with your gut and see what happens. I bet you feel great after the massage. Xxx
@ferngirl My single transfer success story and inspiration. Talk some sense into me!! @JulieMalooley Do you remember what grade your twins were? I have a hatching blast and a B4AB.
@midnite01 Ta hun. The actual real life reality of twins completely freaks me out. Both of my best friends had sets of twins and it was incredibly difficult, hence my firm position of only doing single transfers. I know I need to sleep on this one!
I feel an enormous sense of responsibility for creating these embryos. I still have 5 top grade, B4AA, frozen embryos from SD2.
If I transfer the hatching blast from SD1 and its unsuccessful that would mean flying over here again in January to transfer the last of SD1s embryos...rather than moving straight onto SD2s top grade embryos. Psychologically I'd need to finish using SD1s embryos first.

@Tahli Am so glad to hear you've made it safe & sound Luv😊
I say if you're ok with the possibility of both taking then go for it Luv!!!!😁👍 Agree that if you lose 1 of them (which tbh I can't see happening) then yes, it was most prob unlikely to go the distance.
The massage sounded divine & with what I envision was a delicious lunch, you'll hopefully be stacking the zzz's in no time!!😊
They can refreeze the other embryo can't they if you change your mind?? I've read about it being done on other threads though admittedly it doesn't seem to be a common practice😐
Anyhoo Luv...have a good snooze & see how you feel when you wake up. If you still feel the same way then do it I say!!!😊xo
Hey Tahli good luck .. I say the same if you are okay with having twins then go for it, we decided with our first try we were not, and the large number of twins on the board supported our choice, the fertility dr and nurse in perth, also gave us advice to reduce risks by going for just one. We also mentally prepared ourselves for several trips. The fact we had good quality embys helped our choice, had we not we may have tried to boost our odds with two, we were just lucky it stuck first time. Just make a choice and be happy with that, either way you go... Good
Ta @BlondeinBrisvegas. When I asked about refreezing the nurse screwed up her face and shook her head. You're right a good snooze is what's needed. Like im sure everyone can relate to, I'm just tired of this ttc business. 10 years to bring my son into the world has left me battle fatigued for conceiving number 2. I was prepared for 3 trips over here in the hope of success....but I'm lacking the stamina. Sorry that sounds really whingey esp when I know I'm blessed to have my son. I need sleep!
@ferngirl. I needed to hear those words. Thank-you.
The other thing that's playing on my mind is this consideration. If I transferred the hatching blast and it was successful I couldn't leave the last of SD1s embryos frozen. He/she would be a full sibling to 'hatching blast' and I'd need to give him/her a chance of life.
Guess that means your not going for #3
Tahli well if you are lacking the stamina now and needing sleep then I'd say definitely stick to one! It depends on your support network but I think twins would be incredibly hard on your own, mind you, you've had a child so you know what it is like (or was it too long ago now!)
A very difficult decision but from the comfort of my armchair I'd say transfer one.
Pregnant for the first-time?
Not sure where to start? We can help!
