DS had this surgery when he was little and we didn't experience any swelling like that. I would strongly suggest taking him to be looked at by a medical professional. I don't think people on a parenting forum are the right people to be asking, especially following surgery. .
    Hope he's better soon.

How is he? Did you get to a dr?

DS didn't have any swelling or pain like you've described. If you haven't already please take him to your doctor or ER asap.

    Hope everything's okay.

Thanks he slept well last night and then I took him to my GP this morning as the steri strips that were put on his scrotum have got so dirty because every time he does a poo it all gets stuck around there. I keep giving him a quick bath to keep it all clean etc but he does about 5 poos a day!

Anyway the swelling has gone down a lot and it's not as red as yesterday. The GP looked at it and said it looks good and not infected etc and the nurse put new dressings on. I've also bought some extra dressings to keep it clean.

Of course when we got home he had already done another poo and it's all dirty again, but it's not getting into the stitches thankfully.

Do you have carpet? Could you leave him free range? Pull out a potty and ask him every so often if he needs to go?
