Op have you been the victim of any violence recently in the workplace? After reading over your post I think this would be the only way you would be entitled to a safe job. I can't imagine any workplace would be able to accommodate someone who can't sit or stand for long periods. The only way to be given a safe job is if the dr specifies the exact working conditions to be given to you. In my situation, I was to be in a seated role for the most part of the day with absolutely no heavy lifting. It became a debacle so I threatened them with the safe job and got abused (another story for another day). I got the job I was entitled to. If you go to a doctor who deems you unfit for work your employer is well with their rights to make yoy use sick leave.
