When I got it it was like a build up and then a release once ovulation occurred

Mine is like a deep period pain. It's almost like I can feel my ovaries through my stomach. It hurts more when I'm moving around too.

I always thought I was ovulating when I got the pain. It turned out I actually ovulate a few days after. I'm sure it's different for everyone. The only way to be sure is to track ovulation by using an ovulation kit or fertility friend.

I get it, it's worse than period pain for me. Same as PP described for me... Gradual build up, sharp pain and that's it.

    Default Ovulation pain

Yep started getting it after my second was born. Bit of an ache for a few days then a quick onset or like a burst(stab) and I ovulate usually the next day after the burst. It took me a long time to work out what was happening.

@Bonbon21 I'm pretty sure the pain comes in the few days prior to ovulation. The reason why is that once it was so bad that I went and had an ultrasound. The Sonographer could visualise my ovaries well and commented that I had a large follicle, rather than a cyst. Before his eyes it disappeared. He said "wow, I've never seen that happened, it just ruptured" and then the pain was gone!
