I just came back on to see what had happened. Guess that's why I can't find the thread!
No there was plenty of playing the man and not the ball. It was often pretty gruesome back then.

In the last few days I've seen some threads get heated, but not to the point of personal attacks or the like. When they get closed it's effectively silencing people who have not done anything wrong or broken any rules. I can imagine it's infuriating to come back and find that you can't respond to someone or that all the words you took the time to write have disappeared forever.
No wonder it's so quiet around here these days, no controversy or slightly raised voices allowed. Makes for a very boring forum.
As a moderator, I would honestly prefer not to close/delete threads, but when we have a thread that has numerous reports and/or completely derails into personal attacks, name calling, and tit-for-tat pettiness, shutting the thread is sometimes the best course of action.

Members know there are rules, yet some continually push the boundaries of what is acceptable and get peeved when mods step in.

We can't please all members, no matter what we do, so we just have to try and make the best decisions for the wider forum community.

Please use the report function or PM a mod in future should you wish to express any issues you have with the moderation on this forum.

I am thinking maybe instead of people complaining about BH and/or how people are so mean/not mean enough and/or how it was better/worse in the old days, perhaps we could all

    - start threads (fluff, political, fun, debate, wacky, advice, whatever)
    - actually respond to threads
    - give each other the benefit of the doubt as we are all adults here
    - don't take $hit so personally
    - let non-personal feistiness occur and take it in the spirit it's intended

    Or not. Whatever.

Wondering if I can use a target gift card as a deposit for a lay by?

I'm fairly sure you can. I think I've used one to pay off a lay by before. But don't come after me if I'm wrong!

We went out for dinner and then to Koko Black for dessert. DH told me not to come home before 10 (which is a late night for me), and I walked in the door at 10:15. It was a good night. Lots of non-baby related conversation. It was some excellent self-care, which I needed today. I'm glad she said we had to go out tonight.
