But under the law there is just not enough proof.

I believe he did it. Whether it was pre-mediated I do not know.

But I feel for the family who are suffering from the choices this man has made.

Do I personally think it is fair? No. But I can see why this decision was made.

I am listening to my toddler tantrum. So much noise from such a little human.

Despondent. Went and looked through a brand new Cc centre today for dd as I go back to work with the new school year. It was lovely and amazing. We have a spot.
All i have to do is fill out the forms and pay 4 weeks in advance to secure our spot.
    It is $108 a day for 0-3. So, $540 a week. So 4 weeks is $2200.
Um.. I have $30 in my bank. I literally don't know how I'm going to feed my always starving boys, let alone find over $2k.
Talk about a catch 22. Can't go to work unless I have day care. Ant pay for day care until I go to work.
How does anyone do it?! 😫

Whoa @Mod-Nomsie that's crazy. I would suggest going to talk to the director to see whether you can be exempt from the upfront payment somehow. Maybe a letter from yours and DF's employers confirming that you're employed and will need the spot next year? Hopefully they are willing to be flexible to help you out.

What the...? I just enrolled my DD and had to pay $50. Not 4 weeks upfront!!! Will they accept just the part of the fees that won't be subsided by CCR/CCB?

Can you get your rebate automatically paid to the centre so you only need to pay half?

Will they accept payment in installments over the time until she starts?

And it does suck so bad

That is ridiculous! I have never in my many years working in child care ever heard of that! An enrollment fee of between $50-$100 yes but not 4 weeks in advance. That is crazy!!

    Default I am..... #14

@Mod-Nomsie I would be looking into that further. I actually don't think they are allowed to ask for that kind of up front payment.

I would contact acecqa and see what they say.

I'm going to c/link tomorrow and finding out what % I'm entitled to.
Because it's a brand new centre, the director was saying today something along the lines of the first 12 weeks will be a bit out of synch with c/link. I'm not quite sure.
I just double checked my paperwork because hearing that this practice isn't the norm made me question it. But I'm definitely right- they're asking for four weeks payment, and then regular deductions won't occur until 2 weeks after begin date so payments will always be 2 weeks in advance.
