What would you do if you won over a mil? Would you stay working?

It would take over two mil to make me quit. A million doesn't go very far these days!

For me a million would be plenty to quit work. I would quit in a heart beat. I would pay of the house and still have plenty left over. Then we could just live of DH income... Lol yea he ain't quitting.

Hard to know how much you would need to 'quit your job' but if I won anything over $250 000 I could clear my mortgage which would change our income/ lifestyle enough to make a noticeable difference in our lives.

Any type of win would be great and take the pressure off I think.

    Good luck!

Nope no one I know has ever won the lottery or anything on scratchies. I'd love to win to get us out of this financial pickle but you need to buy a ticket to do that and we don't even have the spare cash for that!

My parents won a large amount when I was very young. Not sure of the exact amount but it was enough to buy a house (not outright, but close to it).
An uncle of mine won a fair bit in a work syndicate, again I don't know the exact amount but again enough to be still living the good life today, new house etc.

I have never won anything - then again I rarely play.

Anyway if I ever magically won 1 mil this is what I'd do:

    1. Pay mortgage
    2. Finish renovating the house
    3. Finish DH's Torana
    4. Go visit my mum in Europe
    5. The remainder will go into DS and future bub's bank account.

There will be nothing left but we would be debt free. I would be a SAHM for a few years as planned but will live my life the same as planned.

There was a scandal at my work before my time, similar to the Toll one. Everyone went in together. A guy bought it on the way home. Called in sick the next day. Next time he came in he quit. Didn't tell anyone about a lotto win. People eventually found out he had won the lotto, he says on HIS ticket not the group one but never provided any proof. Dodgy as.
