@Tahli and @midnight, congrats on the lining scans. Sounds like the two of you are both right on track
@beckymae, congrats on being PUPO love!
@JulieM, have you had your BT yet? I presume you will have results by the end of the day? And how lovely of your ex-FS to want to congratulate you personally. Enjoy the celebration.
@Infinity, are you PUPO now too love? Been thinking of you all morning. You have fought so hard to get to this moment, I hope it goes well for you
AFM....the results are in. From the pathology report:-
Whilst no actual foetal parts were identified, chorionic villi, decidua (pregnant uterine lining), hypersecretory endometrium (found in pregnancy) and the actual implantation site were detected.
There was some inflammation present and the doctor explained that my body was attempting to encapsulate the sac and whatever remained inside it. He said I would never have passed it all naturally and it would probably have calcified and stayed with me forever.
It sounds odd, but I find it soothing to know my body wanted that baby so badly it was refusing to give it up.
The report also said there was no evidence of trophoblastic disease (pregnancy related tumours) and the summary diagnosis simply states: "Products of conception are confirmed."
The short of all that medical jargon is that a blighted ovum has been ruled out, a molar pregnancy has been ruled out, and the final diagnosis is "missed miscarriage." There is nothing specifically that could be identified as the cause of my MC - it was simply bad luck. More than likely there was a chromosomal abnormality which stopped the baby developing as it should.
I have to do a battery of tests tomorrow - my OB wants to start from scratch. I also got a referral to see another FS whom he has worked with, to get a second opinion on how to proceed. I am going to speak to both FS's and then decide in the new year how we will move forward. Ideally I probably need to have a couple of natural cycles to let my body recover before we proceed anyway.
