Sorry guys, I was vague on my last post - don't quote of course as I will delete this later but I was Leisylou and now changed to Summer. Just for privacy reasons.

Sorry I haven't kept up with the thread today I'm in a three day conference and it's fairly full on so no time to post, but I am reading along.

@infinity888 I am so happy for you that it wasn't a complete waste of time and they did get that one beautiful egg for you. I applaud your courage and grace through such a difficult time. You are an absolute legend!

@Bongley I am absolutely gutted for you sweetheart. It just doesn't seem possible that two perfect embies haven't implanted. I'm glad you're seeing your FS and questioning what is next, as like our beautiful @JulieMalooley did, throwing the whole immune protocol in has been the key to the best result she's ever had. You've had one bubba, so it can be done, but maybe things have changed a little? I really hope that the FS can support you in finding some answers and doing something a bit different next time. My heart goes out to you, to get to this point was a very hard slog and heartbreaking, the disappointment must be knocking you flat. Having said all that I'm still hoping you'll get two lines tomorrow.

@Chiefsgirl I'm absolutely wrapped that you've heard bubba again and all is on track - that is SO exciting! So glad it's all running smoothly so far, I really admire the way you forged ahead after so many disappointments and have a healthy baby on board.

    A big to @winsor @Tahli @Blossom74 @Charlie74 @BlondeinBrisvegas @Green lady @JulieMalooley @Petal40 @Corbes @beckymae @emski72 @midnite01 @calypso75 - (sorry if I've forgotten anyone) I haven't written personals to you guys but I'm following along.

AFM I'm attending this conference with a friend, who bought a friend with her and she is 35 weeks pregnant (not planned -grrrr!), so the three of us are together all day, every day. The good news is that I am totally OK with it! I have a little twinge of sadness, but if this was three months ago, I wouldn't have been able to handle it at all and probably would have left the conference in tears and not gone back, wasting hundreds of dollars in the process. I even got the inevitable question from her "Do you have children" and I answered pretty easily "Just 5 angel babies", and asked her if this was her first. So that is a huge step forward for me in my healing! So proud of myself!

Although I'm not doing anything right now to boost my fertility other than being as healthy as I can be, DH & I still DTD every day or every second day (can I still claim to be on my honeymoon 4 years in??? ) and I'm 11DPO today and have been POAS for a couple of days now with stark white BFNs. I know it's not likely but all of my pregnancies have been natural so I still live in hope... Anyway, not this month...

@Summer. You have done so well to be able to hold it together at the conference. Not that your friend's friend isn't lovely company I'm sure, but we all know that sting of pain oh so well.

I think my DH would be very jealous of yours, lol. He hasn't seen any action for a month and a half now. Last thing on my mind, I'm sad to say. Oh well, all good things come to those who wait

    Thanks hon
I really surprised myself today which is a great thing - it's been just over a year now since my last loss, so I feel like I've broken through a big barrier in my healing. Totally understand why you're not up to DTD, very normal after what you've been through. Mine had to wait a month after my D&Cs and you'd think his throat was slit! I'd just ask him did his hand fall off?

@Charlie74 Yes Luv, they can tell if your eggs are good quality or not.

The appearance of the eggs is what tells them firstly, that they're mature and secondly, the quality. Poor quality eggs are often discoloured/dark looking and irregularly shaped. Here's a link to some pictures of mature/immature eggs and poor/high quality eggs:

    http://www.advancedfertility.com/immature-ivf-eggs.htm

    http://www.advancedfertility.com/ivf-egg-pictures.htm

    http://www.advancedfertility.com/deg...e-ivf-eggs.htm

I was always told by the Embryologists on all of my Cycles whether my eggs were mature/immature and the quality of them. I've had some poor quality one's and I've had a couple of eggs that even exploded when ICSI'd.... (Cycle 2/4 from memory) which also happens when the egg quality is sh!t.

Unfortunately, it's par for the course when you get older. Eventually there'll be more bad eggs than good which is why it's so frucking hard to find the golden egg when you're late 30's-40 and onwards or have poor egg quality to begin with regardless of age.

When I had my last EPU I produced three eggs. The embryologist told me right away they were all immature and therefore of no use. They even refused to take DH's sperm, they were so convinced it was a bust.

Half an hour later we got a phone call. One of the three has matured! We need a sperm sample NOW. Race back to clinic, to be told the other two have matured as well! Out of the three, two fertilised successfully. The first only divided to 3 cells but they put it in fresh anyway. The second was my Grade A Hatching Emby.

So there you go. Sometimes they get it wrong too.

@Blossom74 No...sometimes the eggs can mature up in the lab. So in the first instance when the Embryologist looked at them they looked immature, but depending at what stage they're at, they can mature up in the lab as I've had it happen to me with a few of my eggs on one of my Cycles
