You will find a way @JulieMalooley. Check your entitlements with Centrelink to get an idea. Babies don't need all that much Luv though I'm sure they'll get a lot from family/friends which isn't a bad thing😊

Check the Multiple Birth Association out as often you'll be able to buy things in really good condition second hand if you wanted to. The Ladies with twins on the other thread will be able to help as well.

I know you're probably feeling scared & overwhelmed by it all right now but you have these months ahead to work out a plan with DP & put it in place.

Everything will be ok Luv by the time these bubs are born😊 ((((hugs)))xoxo

You will all laugh at me I'm sure, but I am very big on second hand shopping, and most towns have Buy, Swap, Sell websites on Facebook where you can buy all kinds of baby gear in second hand, but often incredibly good condition. JM, perhaps you could look for prams, cots and car seats etc on those sorts of sites? I kid you not, I saw a cot and change table set in as-new condition yesterday for $50! I would have bought it myself, but you know....don't want to jinx anything. So perhaps that might be one way to cut costs?

You could also have a baby shower with a set Gift List for a lot of the smaller stuff. Instead of asking for toys you could ask for a set of bottles, a sterilizer, cot sheets, clothes, and bulk nappies. Hopefully by the time your beautiful babies come along you will have everything ready for them at fairly low cost. And I'm sure the relatives would be delighted to help you prepare for the arrival of the awesome twosome

It will be ok love. Remember how I said the other day that life only throws at you what you can handle, but sometimes it pushes it's boundaries? This is one of those times! But on the plus side - you are so lucky. You will get twice as many cuddles, twice as many of those beautiful open-mouth sloppy kisses, and twice as many gorgeous artworks to hang on your fridge. I just think you are in for the most magical time love Babies don't need much to get by - just a lot of love. I'm sure you have that covered.

Juliemalooley what kept you awake has been worrying me all night too. My DH is going back to studying next year so we will be on part time wages from him (he needs to do it to stay employable). I can't imagine I will be working till the due date with twins on board. Childcare will cost a bleeping fortune with 2 so I don't think I will be making much money after that comes out. 6 rounds of IVF have wiped our savings out too. Shiiite.

    Hi faithandhopellove

Do you have a skill you could utilise at home to make money? For example, I can do nails, and my sister does professional photography (baby bump pictures, weddings etc). Perhaps that might be a possibility? Or could you advertise to do basic book-keeping from home, which could fit in around babies?

I'm sorry, I'm not sure what you currently do for work, lol, but you get the idea. My other sister also did fairly well at internet selling. She'd go shopping in op shops for quality pieces, and then on-sell them online. She made quite a reasonable wage from that. Just a thought anyway. You never know, that sort of thing might help to bridge the gap financially....

Thx guys, the baby accessories don't really worry me as I have that much being offered from family that I'll be pretty much covered for the first bit. I'mworrying that DP will need to stop work for some time to be with me with new babies. Being a contractor he doesn't get paid. Also, ideally with twins I would want to take longer maternity but definitely can't afford to take unpaid leave so worried about how we will manage that bit. Yes we will have FIL (but I don't want him there all the time - that will drive me insane), we also have my stepfather who is great with kids, my niece who is unemployed, my SIL who's excited as all hell, so plenty on offer if we need it, but they can't be with me all the time so I'll need DP. What to do with our cars (ute plus mine is a lease car that is due to be paid out JUST before I'll be due), where will we put two of everything... etc. The euphoria had died off by the time I woke at 2am and now I just feel sick in the guts. Or that could be MS. Either way, I don't feel great. I've also realised that with all the extra medical care and no private cover all the money I thought we could put away before birth is just going to get spent. We have no savings really after all the IVF. It's just going to be hard. One would be so much easier.

Yes Luv...labs do make mistakes sometimes. They should be able to see if the follicles have released the eggs when you have your scan in the morning.

Hoping & praying they're in there waiting to be collected!!😊xo
