    Default Overpayment centerlink

I was over paid centerlink 23 thousand dollars, I was working at time and also received parenting payment which I was entitled to, however I underestimated my earnings , was a really stupid thing to do I know but now I'm terribly worried I am in my own and have 3 baby's I have never been to court or had any criminal trouble in my life, I am worried as the prosecutors are looking at this now and I will have to go to court soon, can some one tell me the possible outcome

How do you know prosecutors are looking into it? Have they been in touch with you?

I would be honest and tell them everything they need to know.

Not sure what a likely outcome would be. As above, it's a lot of money to be overpaid.

No one can tell you the outcome.

Why did you underestimate your earnings? Were you doing it to get some parenting payment? Because it's a lot of money to be overpaid by when your on a income support payment.

That's A LOT to be overpaid. You must have significantly under estimated your income.

    Default Overpayment centerlink

I know someone this happened too and it was a genuine mistake but they were only overpaid $5000. She paid it all straight back but they did try to prosecute her even after it was paid back. You probably need to get legal representation as they may try to find evidence to prove you were fraudulent (even if it was a just a mistake).

That amount doesn't sound like a mistake to me. The amount overpaid alone works out to be a $500week payment. That's like a maximum parenting payment if you had no income. I did know someone who thought they cheated the system by claiming to be single (but we're not) and had no income (but had a reasonable income). She ended up single and got f all from centerlink as they took half as a repayment plan until it was paid off.
