Default Trying for first baby, needing support

Hi everyone. I know that people in this group will be going through different stages. Just starting to try, been trying a short time, average or long time and naturally or IVF.

I've been trying naturally for the last 6 months. I am days away from my period being due. My periods are regular with regularly timed egg white mucus. Day 15 the last 2 months exactly. My concern is this, if I see egg white is that a guarantee I am ovulating? Or just a sign I'm about to but may not be?

I'm 29, don't smoke or drink, go to the gym, am 159cm and weight about 50kg, I'm perfectly healthy - just no luck yet.

I worry I may not be ovulating or I'll need IVF. All things maybe not worth worrying about but they cross your mind after months and months.

Anyone know anything about the egg white mucus and guarantees you're ovulating?

I am hoping all is okay and it's just not been my time yet. Any info or support would be great. Thank you.

I'm afraid that the egg white mucus is no guarantee that you will ovulate. If you want to try testing for ovulation yourself you could try tracking your temperature daily. It will go up after you ovulate. You could find all the instructions on the fertility friend website and download their app.

Also, I believe a doctor could do a blood test to tell you if you have ovulated. Maybe it's worth chatting to someone and just having some general fertility tests.

When you say day 15 last 2 months, what do you mean? Is that the day you get the mucus?

Good luck. I'm sure you will be fine. 6 months is not that long, although I know it feels like it is!

Hi there! You are me about 9 months ago except my cycles weren't regular but I did get ewcm. If you haven't already I'd suggest going to a dr and get some pre pregnancy bloods done (thyroid, immunity etc.) and have a chat about an obgyn referral for peace of mind. Fingers crossed it happens in the mean time.

Although sometimes it'd happen twice a cycle because my body was trying to ovulate and I'd have an anovulatory cycle (I found this out later after I was diagnosed with PCO)

I never got EW CM yet still fell pregnant. I agree with others, try charting your temps and maybe an OPK kit too. Some things work better than others for some people but I think doing a few different methods combined will help pin point ovulation.

I didn't find my GP too helpful in the blood test/ovulation department. If you do want some professional advice it's probably best to see a fertility specialist. I fell pregnant whilst waiting for my appointment (they can take a while to get into!). I was also undergoing acupuncture to help regulate my cycles etc and the woman I saw was amazing (specialised in fertility acupuncture). No idea whether it helped or was just a coincidence but I fell pregnant the same cycle I started acu (had been TTC for 6 months before that, 12 including a miscarriage).

And as others have said 6 months isn't that long - even though it feels like it and is an incredibly frustrating wait! It could very well be bad luck. Try not to stress.

Hi all. Thanks for your comments.
Someone asked what I meant by day 15 two months. What I meant was my cycle is very regular and on the last 2 months, day 15 rolls around and band there is the ewcm.

I was thinking of buying an at home ovulation tester or going to the doctor to do the blood test. I never notice s temperature change so not sure how accurate that would be.

I know 6 months for some is nothing but it feels like forever when you count down for the right time and then count down to the period. It's a vicious cycle.
