I am a major perfectionist when it comes to my work, so I usually say that that's my greatest weakness. But in my eyes it's a weakness with benefits as I always do good quality work.

I am always honest, I say 'I talk too much and occasionally put off doing things I am not an expert on'. Have been told my honesty was refreshing and on both occasions I was interviewed in the last 6 years I got the job so it definitely didn't stop me from doing ok!
Maybe it depends what field you're in. I've got a near enough to 100% strike rate for job interviews so it clearly hasn't hurt my chances.

I actually think it's a dumb question to ask as people are always going to embellish the truth or lie (I am a huge sceptic, sorry).

I am too willing to take on someone else's stuff to help them that i end up rushing my own tasks. I do this because of my need to be kept busy and to feel needed.

I take criticism too much to heart, even if it's constructive. I strive for perfection but of course that doesn't always happen and when it doesn't I take it to heart. I am working on taking it for what it is and making changes.

Usually that I have struggled delegating at times & try to do it all myself. But that I try to work on it & stop myself, assess what needs doing/priorities & go from there.

    .
See that's WHY it's a dumb question!! They ask a negative question and then act surprised or have a smart @rsed response when we answer it!

My response to the above mentioned response of "Oh, so you get bogged down in the details" would be "Yes, afraid so, and I think too many people lack attention to detail so I find myself correcting other people's mistakes. It's a curse!"

I hate that question. I refused to ask it when interviewing people for my team! I preferred to ask in what area they were hoping to get development opportunities if they got the role. People would then give better answers like improving presentation skills, drafting proposals, negotiation skills, technical understanding etc.

If I ever get asked it in an interview I'll just frame my answer as above. I think people tend to feel like they have to state a personality flaw which I think isn't necessarily relevant.
