I'd go back and pay. I tend to be an anxious person and if I didn't pay it would play on my mind.

It's stealing, pure and simple...but I've done it before. The only one I can remember was 2 bottles of juice, but I've done it with other things too. I've realised when I've gotten to the car and gone "ahh crap. No way in hell am I going back in there, waiting to be served and taking that much time". I SHOULD then mention it the next time and offer to pay, but I'm way too socially awkward to attempt it.

After a rough day and an overflowing trolley I wouldn't go back. I'd keep the packet and pay for it the following week.

I would consider how long it would take for me to go back inside. If I could pop back in and pay in 5 minutes I'd go back; if I'd had a really crappy day and was already at my car and it would take a while I'd leave it. I'd probably feel really guilty though and would definitely pay for them at next shop.

I think you went back and paid.

    Well here's what happened.

Halfway down the trolley ramp to my car and I see the nappies. "****!" I think to myself. "I didn't pay for them!" I think to myself... As I keep walking.

I thought about how I had been shown a few kind hands today and decided that I had to go back and pay for the nappies... once I loaded the other groceries in my car. Karma and all.

Loading the groceries in the car I wondered if I was being too paranoid and OCD . Would people honk I was crazy if I went back and paid? A few seconds later I decided not - I needed to go back and pay for the nappies.

I then checked my docket ... to find I had paid for the nappies.

Haha I like the ending OP!

My DH was worrying about having to pay rego recently as we were a bit tight on cash. After a couple of days of putting it off, he looked up to see how much it was going to cost.. and realised he'd actually paid it a couple of weeks earlier.

Yay for things that have already been paid for!!

It's happened to me a few times.
I've never gone back unless I was aware of it in the shop.

    It cuts both ways though.
I've been overcharged, or charged full price on a sale item and not gone back either.
Time is the big issue for me.
