Yes - we bought Nasonex but it doesn't seem to be working. I think he's still using it. It's been about 2 weeks so far.

When i had a sinus infection the dr gave me a script for a steroid spray called avamys (i think)...
It was expensive but cleared everything up really fast!

I get them quite often too. Medications don't work for me. This is how I treat mine!

Fill hot water bottle with boiling water and lie on it (bad ear to the heat)
After heating massage the area from beneath the ear under the jaw down to the throat (look up Eustachian Tube if you don't know where to massage) this part is sometimes painful
You may have to do this every couple of hours till it clears
Sometimes I also sleep on the heat pack overnight

    Good luck.

He has an appt again this week with the doctor, so if nothing else has worked will ask them about this one. He was hoping to be able to hear by Monday!

I recently had ear candling done for my blocked ear and it was the best feeling, released so much pressure and clears out sinuses! I had it done at my usual beautician but I think you can buy the packs at the chemist.
