My DP and I are attempting to egg share but we will have to wait and see how we go. Unfortunately my stim cycle was a flop and my one and only good embryo didn't thaw when DP tried to use it. I'm now going to attempt to carry number one using her embryos even though I would have loved for her to carry first.

So when are the inseminations for this month? Best of luck!
I'm sorry to hear that the first attempt wasn't successful for you guys, i'm sure it will all work out positively in the end yet awfully frustrating at the same time It's all the preparation that makes it difficult, even researching about cycles and IUI seemed a little overwhelming when we researched that avenue! But so many success stories, just a matter of waiting for the right little bean! Fingers crossed for you. What was the reason you wanted your partner to carry first if you dont mind my asking? And also, with your first little embryo not thawing was there a high chance if you did another egg harvest the same would happen?

Our donor is extremely relaxed and a complete sweet heart, he had been interested in donating for a couple of years but only just had the heart to look more into it and make himself available. And due to him also wanting to document and create this film regarding donation and us featuring, it has allowed him to become quite in tune with the way donation works and getting to know us better as a couple and him as a donor. Basically, we are going to be his sole recipients and he will donate to me for subsequent pregnancies, whether this is through AI or IUI (with freezing), i'm not sure yet. I was the one who always wanted to carry until last minute when DP decided she didnt want to miss out! Our donor isn't going to co-parent. He is 24 as I am, and single and donating altruistically to help us out. He is happy with as much interaction as we would like, most likely a catch up every couple of months, we are really going to test the waters and see what suits us when the time comes and bub is born. We ultimately would love him to be an 'uncle'/friend role, being available to our child loosely when they have questions and become curious, just as it was important to us to know our donor to also be able to answer these. I think its difficult, though we have the contract a lot of it is to do with trust and ensuring this 'agreement' is shared, we get on quite well and with him being so incredibly laid back, we are hoping it all kind of falls into place if you know what i mean and works itself out. We are confident with the child's best interests at heart he/she will have two mums and an awesome uncle donor! hahahaha. Its a very very very hard choice what donor avenue to take................................

Our next insems are mid next week (Wed-Fri) so crossing fingers there's one super keen swimmer x

That's fantastic! It sounds like you have found a way that works for you all which is absolutely the most important thing. I really hope you get a nice strong swimmer finding its way to a nice healthy egg so that the magic can happen!

I wanted DP to carry first because I really wanted to continue focussing on losing weight. I've lost some but have more to go and it would have given me that time. Now that we have no more embryos from me it only leave DP's 7 embryos for me to use. So I'll get cracking with those and hope that my weight doesn't affect me conceiving. DP is a much healthier weight so it would have been ideal to do it the other way around but oh well!

We will also stim me again at some point in the future but still no guarantees that my egg quality will be any better! Only time will tell. I was on a shake diet leading up to my egg pick up so that might have messed my body around too much or it could end up being like that again. It's all a mystery at the moment.

19+6 (!!) This belly baby is SO much more active than DS was. Constant movements, they're not afraid to let me know they're in there - all day and night!! 😆

We had our scan on friday and all is perfect.
Half way now but it's still actually so surreal. So cliché but you know I look at my DS and i just fall more and more in love with him everyday and i can't believe how lucky I am to have another little creature on the way. This year was difficult with TTC but eventually we did it!

Keep your chins up ladies...it WILL work for you and when it does it will be the most amazing feelings...even if you're sick like I've been for both pregnancies. It is so worth it! They just melt your heart more than you could ever imagine!!

    Sorry...bit hormonal/emotional this morning. Haha.

How is everyone else today? Xx

So great to catch up on where everyone is at, although it did take a while to read through it all! I'm in sydney east, near maroubra. I'd be keen for a catch up somewhere too. @Boxergirl our first son was iui, with our donor. Our second (hopefully) will be same donor with my partners egg but I'll be carrying. She has her first scan tomorrow to check out her follicles.. Hopefully we manage to squeeze in a PU before our clinic closes! We should. @rainbowroad how come your dp is seeing a specialist? U thinking of trying again with her if your next round is unsuccessful?

Sounds like a few of us are interested in a meet up. Would something in the new year be best for everyone?

Sounds good to me! Wondering how the best way to coordinate might be? Not sure if maybe getting Facebook involved to have a private chat would help to organise and coordinate without the whole world (or the hub) knowing the details. Thoughts?

Originally our plan was to TTC our second using DP. She had a miscarriage, and then an unsuccessful cycle of IVF with three transfers, so we've switched back to me, to give DP a break and have switched to a new specialist who we think will give us a better chance of DP getting pregnant.

We saw him today and he was really great. Feel much happier with the choice now we've seen him. If nothing else, their technology is more advanced and will give us a better chance in itself.

Good idea Tortoise. I'd have no idea how to set one of those pages up though. Would you be keen to get it started?

Just re-read. I assumed you meant something like a private group? Or is there another way to go about it?

Yep I can setup a group on Facebook where we can organise gatherings etc. I'll set one up this afternoon 😊
