    I freakin hope so!!

Think we will ask to put 2 back if it works out that we can. Loosing that last frostie at thaw seemed like such a waste.

Yeah not a bad idea! I would consider a double transfer in that situation too. I hope the first one works 😀

    Hello
I just wanted to introduce myself/us. We are from Sydney and currently in our second cycle of AI at home this month using a known donor (that we met online and have gotten to know). Our first try was last month and we are quite sure that it was successful, but unfortunately all signs pointed to a very very early miscarriage ) We are both feeling like we could use a little support as we don't want to involve our families too much in the process yet (just too foreign for them to understand if you know what I mean).. So feeling as though this little support group may be a great way of being able to vent our frustrations and gain some insight into other couples TTC journeys! Just wanted to say hello and that I may be doing a bit of stalking over the next little while!

Welcome! The TTC journey is exciting isn't it? Can be a little rough too so definitely good to have support! DP and I are also in Sydney but doing IVF through a clinic is we prefer not to know the donor or have any association with them but all of that is definitely a personal preference. We weren't planning on telling anyone about the journey but after some bad news we told my mum for some extra guidance and support which absolutely helped. We are blessed to be surrounded by family and friends that support us in everything we do which is also great.

I'm really sorry to hear about your first insem. I really hope number two goes well for you and that you have some great news to share with us soon! There are some that have already got their BFP's and some of us who are TTC at the moment so a great mix of people!

Thanks heaps TortiseNotTheHare. Sorry hope I replied right, not sure about tagging and all that yet

It certainly is an exciting time, but also feel the stress and pressure already, I guess all the preparation that we have gone through is minimal (not using a clinic or egg share at this stage) but to us it still feels like we have dedicated a lot to the process of donor recruitment, contracts and health checks etc. I want to make myself think I am just taking it as it comes and trying to be relaxed about it all, not get my hopes up too much at this stage (being only second try) but it's hard now when we all want instant gratification! Being patient and the wait is so difficult. It's so wonderful to hear other couples stories. We were originally going to do clinic and unknown but it just worked better for us this way and yes as you said, personal preference. We have made somewhat of a friend out of our donor, also featuring in a documentary promoting sperm donation as he is a film maker so is interviewing couples using all different methods of donation. It is all so fascinating. This month if we will be testing at Christmas time for BFP so really hoping Santa is extra good to us! (while secretly not wanting to get hopes up). Such a challenge. Our family are supportive but just very naive about our donor and the process so we are trying to keep it to ourselves a little, though they do know we are trying. I hope your IVF journey will bring about a little bean soon, it's such a process but will be so worth it. Now back to stalking! Hehehe

Yeah it can be a bit daunting so much prep and money to get started and then it's somehow still all very confusing even when you get started. We're trying to sit back and enjoy the ride but we are also desperately hoping that it doesn't take too long to conceive!! We don't want to start becoming impatient with it all so we will try to stay chilled and hope that it happens soon.

That would be amazing to have a BFP at Christmas! Do you mind me asking what the whole process is for you guys?

Sorry I'm a little daft, what are you meaning by the whole process? Lol. Like how we recruited and the stages we have gone through up to this point? We met our donor through coparentmatch, we messaged and discovered our donor only lived 4 suburbs away which was kind of uncanny! We decided to use a known donor as for us it was important to have a basis of knowledge and for him to be available to us in the future. Our donor had health and semen analysis and my partner had health testing. We also created a donor and recipient contract to ensure we were all on the same page. The actual process of donation (which was documented last month) was donation in another room, handed off to us and our donor leaving for me to inseminate DP. We did two insems last month, this month we will do three. Just hoping DP ovulated regularly this month due to the miscarriage we are quite sure she experienced (or chemical they say??). Sorry, not sure if I answered your question or not, let me know if I didn't and I'll elaborate

Will this be your first round of IVF? Are you egg sharing? I haven't done a heap of reading of back posts yet but I will get there so sorry if I sound silly
I wanted to do this badly originally but it just wasn't feasible for us to do with my DP being 6 years older than me and then she would have needed her eggs stored for me for future pregnancies, it is such a costly experience isn't it
it sounds so beautiful though to carry each other's babies, so amazing! Wishing everyone patience through TTC times, patience and resilience is definitely the key x

Hi ladies... Welcome to the newcomers, wishing you baby dust in your TTC journey.
@Boxergirl, I would transfer two for sure.vim definitely doing a double this time too. Good luck with EPU XX
@TortoiseNotTheHare, how are you going? When should transfer be?

I'm CD9 now, so about 2 weeks away from my bloods that'll tell me when to start Lucrin. Sperm has been bought and paid for so won't be long before it's hanging out in the freezer. We also see the new specialist for DP on Tuesday. It's an easy time of year to keep busy which is good! I've been enjoying time with DS. I know it'll all be worth it eventually.

That's exactly what I meant! 😊 Other people's journeys fascinate me! Has this donor specified an amount of times he will donate or will he just do whatever it takes to work? Just out of curiosity what's the parenting arrangement like? Is he single and ready to be a dad/same sex couple and that's why he wants to co-parent?

My DP and I are attempting to egg share but we will have to wait and see how we go. Unfortunately my stim cycle was a flop and my one and only good embryo didn't thaw when DP tried to use it. I'm now going to attempt to carry number one using her embryos even though I would have loved for her to carry first.

So when are the inseminations for this month? Best of luck!
