I think the guided u/s is becoming more common but I've never had one. It doesn't bother me though.

Interesting... I think I would prefer if they could see what they are doing and I know the FS does it day in, day out but everyone's uterus is different. Isn't it better to see where the little poppet is being placed? Oh well! Tis what it is!

Guided ultrasound for us- external. My DP was prompted as to where to hold it. I'm not so sure it would be possible with an internal as our FS needed to 'get in there'. I'm sure all the FS's know what they're doing and where the embryo needs to go, maybe it's just reassuring for the patients to see it go where it needs to go.

I think a day 3 embryo is still too small to see on an ultrasound whereas a blastocyst is bigger and you can see it. That could be why Dr C doesn't use it, I could be wrong. She also doesn't measure follicle size or lining thickness anymore (she did when I was TTC DS), I think she probably just knows by sight.

Ours was a 5 day blastocyst if that makes any difference.

Default Same Sex Parents TTC List #3

Yeah that could be the reason @rainbow road. You're right @TandR I guess it's just more reassuring to see that's it going in the right spot. Apparently the most ideal location to place them is at the crosshair of the Fallopian tubes which is what made me question how she would be able to see where that point is. She's the pro so I'll leave it to her haha.

How are you feeling about tomorrow rainbow?

Well we have our first blow.. Knew it was coming but didn't realise it would be this bad. Out of 11 mature eggs only 4 fertilised normally. She said that 4 didn't survive the ICSI process and the other 3 didn't fertilise. Gutted. I am petrified there will be nothing to freeze and nothing for DP to use. I called her to tell her and cried down the phone 😔 I can't believe we lost 7... Just like that.
