    Default Preschool photos - cost?

This year was DS's first year of preschool and they had photos taken late last term.

Now it's time to order the photos we want. We receive an envelope to order them and little proofs of 8 different portraits of DS. They are all absolutely adorable, so it looks like we'll be spending $99 to get the full package

I didn't expect them to provide so many nice pictures to choose from - I thought they'd just show you the best shot they took and give you options to order what you want.

Anyway, out of curiosity - how much have you spent, and do you buy the class photo too?

We got the minimum package which was $30 for class photo, and one individual photo in 4 sizes but 8copies. Enough for grandparents, us and dd1.

    Wow that's cheap.

Our school photos were 35 just for the class photo, 45 was cheapest package that had a individual photo. You have to pay for them before they take the photo.

    Its crazy.

Ours was around the same as this - but that's for school not preschool!

My Preschooler's were taken last term, but we haven't received them back yet. We were given 3 packages to choose from, and I chose the medium priced one which was $32 and that was a class photo, several individual photos and a few bookmark size ones. It's such a pain though, as the packages are never what you really want/need.

At our daycare I was in the awkward position that DD was transitioning between 2 rooms, so 2 lots of photos. I paid $75 for the better set, so a class photo, and 8 of the 8x10 of individual shots. And a cd. For the other lot, I paid $60 and got a group shot, and a cd. They're nice photos

I'm just surprised that we're going to find it necessary to spend $99!

I'm going to have a better look at the packages/options tonight. It's really hard to narrow it down to just a couple of the images because they are all total gems

It's tricky isn't it, they pull at you your heart when they're all gems, but then your head kicks in and says $$$$. In saying that though, if you're happy with the quality and you really can't narrow it down, get the full package if you can afford it, I would.
