Default Barossa Valley S.A. - who has info?

I'm thinking of relocating to the Barossa Valley area but have no idea how to choose a town to live in. Is anyone from there, or knows the area well? I have toddlers so would be looking for good facilities, schools etc. But I've also always lived in country towns and would like a town that has a great community too. Any advice. ..??

Tanunda is a lovely town but may not be the cheapest to buy/rent, nuriootpa is only 10 mins up the road so well worth including in your research. The foodland I think is bigger and cheaper, Coles from gawler delivers all through the area if that's your thing too. Gawler, munno para and Elizabeth shopping centres are not too far away, it's only a sort hop to the highway then off you go.

There are plenty of small local businesses, butchers, cafés, bakeries, restaurants pubs etc. as well as 24 servos in both towns.

Medical facilities, there are multi/doctor practices in tanunda, nuri and kapunda (20 mins from nuri I mention this as they have a female ob) hospitals in tanunda and kapunda both nice and cater to low risk births as well as some surgeries with visiting specialists as well as all the usual a&e stuff.

My boy isnt in school yet but I'm pretty sure buses go both ways between towns, there are a number of public and religious private primary schools too.

Day care was not insanely hard to get into (for me anyway) and is very nice my boy is doing really well.

Thanks so much for this! I went for a drive on my way thru yesterday and thought Nuri might be handy with its bigger stores etc. Saw kapunda and angaston as well but missed tanunda. I know gawler and don't want to live there. Too big for me! Do you know if these towns are still country communities? Or are some moreso? I wondered if there are now just a lot of people who commute to Adel and they might have lost the town feel socially etc. Hope that's not a silly question.
