Usual dose is 5mg's at night. I always took it an hr before I wanted to sleep Like any supplement, you do need to take it for a good 3 months minimally to reap the greatest rewards. My FS has his Ladies on shizloads of supplements. He's got a list for the men too if you have a male partner
@BlondeinBrisvegas I'm not sure yet whether my FS is conservative or not - so I haven't asked about supplements. The only ones he specifically recommended initially were the COQ10 and elevit. My husband takes nothing as he doesn't "believe" in supplements - oh he drinks a lot of beer - perhaps it's full of vitamins - not.

This is what DP and I took for Cycle 4 & 5 as per Wazza's list. We took it non-stop between Cycles for all up 6 months or so.

For Her: Folic Acid (Megafol brand usually over the counter at the chemist) 1x5mg tab a day, Berroca 1x day (I substituted a Mega B capsule instead), Fish Oil 1000mg's a day, Zinc- 40mg's a day, Vitamin E 500mg's (1000iu) a day, Co-Enzyme Q10 200-400mg's a day (I did 300 mg's a day), Low dose aspirin 100mg's a day, DHEA 3x25mg caps a day, Melatonin 1x5mg capsule at night. I also added Vit D as I was low in it and Fresh Royal Jelly (1/2tsp a day) but you could take it capsule form too.

For Him: Aloe Vera Juice 20mls at night, Zinc 40mg's, Pumpkin seeds >10 per day (I just gave DP 1 tbs of peppita's every day), Folic Acid 5mg's a day, Goji berries 1xtbs a day or 20 mls a day of Goji berry juice, Selenium 100mcg/day.

You can take all of these right up until EPU (except the DHEA, you have to decrease to 1 capsule a day from Day 2 of stimms until EPU).

The DHEA and Melatonin need to be compounded at a compounding chemist and you need a script unless you buy it online from o/seas.

I'd tried it a while ago (around feb/march before my appendix op & I stopped it then) and then again in past 6weeks so it probably didn't help my current cycle, but who knows. it was the furtherest progression. I think DP's dry july might have helped too (as it was the only difference a few months back)
@winsor I have asked my DP to cut down the drinking (2beers a night on average) and he just won't co-operate and poo poos everything I quote and read about studies or things that impact on fertility. His reasoning is that as he's successfully pro created before drinking the same amount it obviously doesn't have an impact - but he wasn't 46 then!

yeah, the alcohol must have an impact somehow (even if in just general health) as both doctor's have strongly advised he cut back/stop. I tried to suggest it too but didn't really have any impact. initially we were diagnosed with MFI / morphology issues but it's back to normal levels since before previous cycle (rpa re-checked when we started there) and they were able to do ivf instead of icsi which we'd done previously.

@winsor I was taking 1 pill of COQ10 a day and then starting taking 2 pills (300mg in total ) about 6 weeks ago when I read about how much others were taking.

cool. I don't know if it'll help my frostie since it already has all its energy now (as I understand it?) but might help for natural attempts going forwards. worth a shot anyway. the life extension people seem to like it too, so who knows

I completely forgot to chase up the nurses. (can you tell I've been through 12+ transfers?) They said early afternoon sometime, I'll ring them tomorrow. Unless something goes horribly wrong with defrosting it should just be uneventful and the excitement will start on wed, DPO10. Erk.

@winsor i was only taking 150 of umbiquol coq10 until reading @Bib list and @Chiefsgirls list as well then i increased the dose to 300. I know that it has to be umbniqlol one otherwise we cant absorb normal coq10 as we dont have the enzyme to break it down post 35yrs old or something like that anyway. Its so confusing

@greenlady i really hope you find something here that helps you. These ladies are full of great information
