Default Any experience in Egg donor Clinic in Malaysia or Taiwan recently?

    Hi all

I am Newbie in here. We had failed 5 IVF cycles with various clinics (now totally run out options) and now I am 45, only chance is using egg donor.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience in using IVF clinic in Malaysia or Taiwan or any Asian countries who can also find an egg donor? I am half Asian and looking for an Asian egg donor. I have been contacting few agencies in Malaysia and one clinic in Taiwan. Taking a long time to get reply or answers and not much options available. Also contacting Newlife donor agency, Any advice or recommendation is appreciated.

Thank you very much for your help in advance!

    Hi Harri,

Please see my post on the recent thread 'IVF Thailand egg donor'.
    http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/showthread.php?444087-Thailand-IVF-clinic-egg-donor/page11

I have written some info regarding Malaysia.
We went direct to Sunfert Clinic in Kl. We didn't use an agent. An agent was charging $30-40k for a donor cycle!! As opposed to $6k direct with the clinic. Inclusive of donor fee! They have their own Donors but not many. I believe Cathy Sanchez is an agent that has moved from
Thailand to Malaysia. Not sure her charges but i hear she charges $500 for a consult. Personally I feel this is too high as a lot of info is on these forums. If you email the clinics they can put you onto some agents if you don't want to go direct It is very easy to go direct if you have a FS in Australia to discuss things with. You have your scans here during the cycle with your fertility specialist.
I found their protocol for egg donation. I.e there estrogen to thicken the lining a bit cautious and long winded compared to Australia. So I asked the Doctor if we could use the same protocol as our FS has in Australia. This was fine.
They're very nice, Great clinic, however expect long waits as he is very busy. That's an Asian thing. It's not like Australia. lots of waiting. I always found it best to get yourself knowledgeable about everything in your cycle, and have your FS here to ask as well. The FS at Sunfert always got back to me via email quite fast. He is a lovely caring FS.

We had a young donor which we used but after 6 goes it didn't work for us. Donors are hard to come by in Malaysia. Some religions prevent donation also. Muslims do not and I do not believe their is enough knowledge or not much known of egg donation in KL.
Anyhow see the Thailand thread for more info.
Thailand laws make egg donation illegal so that is out.
Research around as their maybe Thai clinics that have moved to Cambodia.
    Hope that helps

    Hi Petalsgalore

Thanks you so much for this info. I have contacted Sunfert twice via email and webform, but they never reply to me.
Not sure why, did you contact them via email initially? Many people are mentioning about Cathy.
How can I get her contact details?
It is so hard to find clinic in Malaysia who can assist international patient. I guess, just keep going.
I will check your post and learn more.
    Hopefully I get more info.
Thanks again for taking time to reply to me. Such a journey we all have to go through, it is nice to know that I am not the only one.

    Hi Hari,

Forget the email. Go to their website and ring them. Basically you will need to make an appointment with their FS for IVF egg donation.
They will not send details or photos to you via email. You need to fly there as we did and choose a donor from photos.
Always chooses a 2 incase the first one pulls out etc.
You pay the fees, and get your medication from them. you fly home and their egg donor co ordinator will get in contact via email to let you know how the cycles will be synced.
You can also get your meds from your FS in Australia or GP.
You definately need your FS here in Australia that will be happy to just do your scans and maybe write scripts if you need it, plus to have a chat about your protocol.
Your Oseas clinic will advise when to have your scans.

Yes they are very hard to get back to you via email. Asian way is don't ask too many questions. I had emails not answered. So I picked up the phone and rang. It's the most busiest clinic I have ever experienced. Expect waits of hours! It's not like our wonderful service system in Australia but it's worth it if you can bounce things off your FS here.
Although we weren't successful there with our donor. She did have 2 successful pregnancies with other people after me.
Wishing you the best. Pm if you need any further info.
Cathy is the nurse that runs the clinic.
It is NOT Cathy Sanchez - an Agent- totally different. We went direct. As I knew the IVF protocol so well from doing many cycles! I didn't want to pay 10K extra per cycle for something I already knew and I knew I can go direct.
The only thing an agent will bring is their own egg donors and let you ask all those questions

    Hi Petalsgalore
Thank you so much for getting back to me again, I will call Sunfert and try to make an appointment. Hopefully I can get through to them.
Thanks for your advice on FC.
I have recently moved from WA to VIC and now l need to find new FC who can support my protocol if I am doing DE cycle in abroard.
today, my previous doctor in WA has mentioned that it's illegal in WA for FS to help patient who go through egg donation programme in abroad, hopefully VIC will be ok, very worry.
lots to consider and overwhelming, I guess just need to get things done!

thanks again for all your help

Yes I believe that is true. Hope you can find one that can just do your scans. They don't have to help you as such as you will have your FS instructions from overseas and the Oseas nurse to guide you. Plus your printed schedule. Just need scans. Perhaps check the active South African and European thread for ladies living in Vic who could recommend a FS or a knowledgable GP (referring you for scans)
There must be many Asian heritage people going for egg donation overseas, but no one posts!
I hope that this information helps already one and I'm sure many others access something that is invaluable.

Thanks again! Really appreciate your help, I guess you just have to try if you really want to have a baby, I have few friends who is going through IVF or getting sister to donate egg, etc, unfortunately i don't have anyone who can help, so need to look for a stranger to donate. Bit scary but I guess no choice.
there are many nice people who are going through similar things who are exchanging info via site! Hopefully I can help people one day by answering to their questions! Thanks again for your help!
