    Hi all, just wondering whose been to the Dubai airport and did you find things cheaper?

    Cheaper than where? The Malls? It was cheap for alcohol I remember that much! Depends what you're after I suppose.

    we bought a bracelet at the airport because I didn't feel comfortable in the markets. /souks. I really cannot remember what was available in the airport but I do remember the airport was huge. I hope you have a great time. marie.

    Not so much with the crappy exchange rate. As with any airports across the world, you'll get better deals outside of the airport.

    Is it a stopover? Will you get one on the way back? If yes, just suss out prices on the way over and shop on the way back.

    It's been 8 years since I was there, so things could have changed, but no. It wasn't cheaper. The shops in the big malls were, but not always. Pays to do your sums with the exchange rate before purchase to check. I got some lovely leather shoes for about $20AU, but a handbag was more than I'd pay here for the same thing! So it depends on what you want.

    Definitely not cheaper. I was there in February this year and most of it was overpriced or the same as here. Better off just browsing.

    Thank you all, from what I recall it was more expensive. But I will have a look on the stop over a d do shopping if needed on the way back.
