Default WWYD - new job and study or another baby?

Hubby and I have been planning for a while to TTC #2 in November. As it's getting closer, I'm questioning whether I want another baby yet or whether I want to study my Masters in my profession (3 years part time, would probably put off having a baby until I finished the degree) and find a new job which will offer me more career progression. I've been in my current role and company for 5+ years and whilst my role and salary have grown a lot since I started, it is still a relatively junior role. My Manager has been discussing a potential promotion with me into the exact role I want for 6 months but it never eventuates. Whilst I'd like more money and know I could easily get at least 15% more elsewhere, money isn't really a factor as we're comfortable on my current salary. Apart from wanting a promotion, I'm happy in my current role, enjoy the work and have a great Manager. I'm 26 and hubby is 28 so fertility wise, we still have some time up our sleeves. Our daughter is 2.5 years old and we're not concerned with a large age gap.

So if this was you, WWYD?

Tough decision. Really only you know what's most important.
Do you want to prioritise family or career at this stage in your life?
If it was me and I was your age. ..I really don't know. Though I might be inclined to enroll in the study. ...start TTC
..see how long that takes and continue to study for as long as I could. You can always defer if you fall pregnant and find the study too much. Though lots of mums study with bubs etc.

I actually had that exact same approach with #1 - enrolled and started TTC, I fell pregnant straight away and my course started when I was 7 weeks pregnant and I deferred almost immediately as I was too exhausted to keep up. Tried to study again when she was 3 months old and she was a bad sleeper so again, struggled to keep up. It is only now that I feel that I could manage to study as she's a much better sleeper. If I had a baby first, I'd probably have to wait until he / she was 2-3 before I could study, and even then, it might be a challenge with 2 kids.

I was in a similar situation and decided to have another baby although that wouldn't have put me off applying for a promotion if it arose within my area (freeze on promotions at the time).

If I had won a promotion it would have come with more responsibility and slightly harder to negotiate the part time hours I'm going to have when I go back. So perhaps it is a blessing, although the extra money would have been nice.

Good luck - there's no easy decision, with pros and cons to everything
