    Default Borderline hip dysplasia

    Hi mummies,

Just wondering if anyone has been told that their child has borderline hip dysplasia? if so, what was the treatment if any? DD had hip dysplasia at birth and was in a correctio harness for 3.5 weeks only as a follow up ultrasound revealed all was ok and the paed was happy so said she no longer needed it. Now she's 12 months and walks with one foot out so we went to the GP who sent us for an X-ray which revealed 'borderline hip dysplasia'. We have been referred to an orthopaedic surgeon (appointment is in a few weeks) however have been told that she doesn't need another brace. I'm not really sure what the surgeon will say. Has anyone else been in a similiar position?

There is a great DDH support group on Facebook for WA parents, also have a look at Healthy Hips Australia Facebook & website for info.

But for FB page look up 'DDH Parent Support Group Western Australia'

Good luck, my daughter was in a brace for 6 months & we where given the all clear, it would be devastating to go backwards, so I wish you all the best X

@HappyBovine has your daughter got any pain or walk with a limp? I'm so worried that DD may have problems when she's older
