We're in SA - possibly most expensive in the country?
Ours vary summer and winter - summer $650-$800
This winter (bitterly cold) $1208 - normal winter $1000.
Its a 3brm, 1 bthrm all electric house with small solar that makes almost no difference!

    Country vic- freezing winter

8 week gas bill $700, that was after 15% discount... Gas cooktop, gas central heating.

That's for a new house, 4 bed 2 bath. I'm a sahm so heating was on a lot.

    So expensive!

We live in a 3 bedroom home that's on the small-ish side, 2 adults and a 4 year old.

Electricity is in the range of $370-$450 per quarter. We run the air con more frequently in the hottest and coldest times of the year, which accounts for the variance.

Gas used to be around $160-$170 per quarter, but our last bill was almost $200 (seems the prices have gone up, as our consumption doesn't vary that much).

Also don't quite fit the brief but we have noticed such a rise in bill cost since I became pregnant (now have 4 month old). QLD so we used to never use heaters and just rug up in winter or strip off / swim / fans for summer but this year we installed an aircon:heater to keep a steady temp for grumpy uncomfortable pregnant me over summer & now for our newborn.

We now pay on average $90 /qtr for gas (does hot water only) and $460/qtr for electricity. Small 3 bedroom 1bath 1 bed townhouse, 2 adults 1 baby.

Interestingly, 2 years ago we used to have 4 adults living here and the bills were cheaper - even with all of us having tvs in bedrooms and wall aircons in bedrooms. Prices are definitely going up quickly.

Usually around the $400-$450 mark most quarters for electricty in Brisbane. Small 3 bedroom house with 2 adults and 3 children. We use the washing machine and dryer a lot, and the aircon heaps in summer.

Our last gas bill in box for winter was $475. That's heating (outer burbs Melbourne!), hot water and cook top.

Our electricity bill was around $1000 but included a $300 charge to change our power to solar. I'm hoping now that we will see some relief for power bills as our system is quite large (5kw for a 4 bed , study, 2 bathroom home).

    Occupancy is 2 adults, 4yo and 1yo. I am currently a sahm.

Referring to the price rise - we got out a 10yo bill (same company) and we were using more power back then (with only one child, not two) and the bills were $300. We're not using any more power at all - less if anything, its the price per kw that's the killer!
